Teaching Strategy Language Content 1. Teacher asks the pupils to do to T : Are you ready for our lesson for today? the following actions as teacher show flashcards of animal: P: Yes. Slide like a snake, jump like a kangaroo, fly like seagull, swim like a fish, creep like a tiger and swing like a monkey 2. The pupils have to perform together with the whole class. 3. The teacher gives the pupils time to perform each action. T : I want all of you to stand up. T: Now, I want you to do the action just like I said. Do you understand? P: Yes. T: Lets start. Firstly, slide like a snake. Then jump like a kangaroo. Now, fly like seagull. After that, swim like a fish, creep like a tiger and lastly, swing like a monkey.

P : (the pupils perform the action every time the teacher gives instruction) T: Do you have fun? P: Yes. T: Now, give claps to yourself. Everyone can sit down. Step 1: (15 minutes) 1. The teacher read the poem You Do It Too aloud. 2. The teacher gives handout of the poem to the pupils. 3. The teacher reread the poem together with the pupils. 4. The poem is read by the teacher and pupils with action and emphasizing the rhyme words. 5. The teacher asks the pupils to name and underline the rhyming words in the poem. For example : jump and bump, kangaroo and too 6. The pupils have to identify how the two words are alike and different. a. (same ending, different beginnings) b. For example : same ump, different beginnings T: Now, I will read you a poem entitled You Do It Too. All of you must listen carefully. You Do It Too I can jump, jump, jump Like a kangaroo, With a bump, bump, bump. Can you do it too? I can creep along Like a jungle cat My steps are long Are yours like that? T : I have gave each of you handout of this poem. Now, I want everyone to read this poem together with me but with action. Can you do it? P: Yes teacher. (the teacher and pupils read the poem together with action) T: Lets see. Are there any rhyming words that have the same ending in this poem? Teaching aid: Poem handout

P: Yes. There are jump and bump and cat and that. T : Very good. Now, I will cover the ending of the words. Do they have the same beginning? P : No. T : Now, I will cover the beginning of the words. Do they have the same ending? P : Yes, they are. T : So they are similar in the end, right? P : Right teacher.

Step 2: (15 minutes)

1. The pupils have to form a group of five. 2. The teacher gives each group an animal movement card and a set of animal pictures.

T : Now, I want you to form a group of five. P : (pupils form groups)

T : So, there are six group in this class. I will give each an animal movement and a set of animal 3. Based on the animal movement pictures. 4. After all groups had finished, they will paste the movement card and animal pictures that they have choose on the board. come in front and paste the picture and the movement on the board so your friends can see it.

Step 3: (20 minutes)

1. The teacher gives handouts of kangaroo and jungle cat mask to each of the group. 2. In the group, the pupils have to design their mask by colouring it. 3. Using the mask, they will do performance of the poem in front of the class. 4. The pupils have to plan with their group members on how they will present their poem in front of the class. 5. The pupils can use their own tune and act out the action in the poem according to their creativity. 6. In their group, the pupils have to present their performance in front of the class. 7. Each group is given 3 minutes to present their poem in front of the class. 8. The group that gives the best performance will be declared as the winner.

T : Now, I will give you each of the group members a handouts of kangaroo or jungle cat mask. Has everyone got it? P : Yes. T : I want all of you to decorate the your mask as you want. Later on, you will wear the mask to do performance on the poem. So, you must decorate your mask as good as u can for the performance. Can you do it? P : Yes. After 5 minutes... T : Have you finished doing your mask? P : Almost teacher. T : Now, I want you to plan with your group on how you will perform the poem. Can you do it? P : Yes. T : Remember, the best group that perform will be the winner.
