CHAPTER V
SUMMARY CONCLUSIONS ANDRECOMMENDATIONS

SUMMARY
The purpose of study was to comparative analysis of physical fitness among Pharmacy and Engineering students.40 males (20 Pharmacy and 20 Engineering)students were selectedfrom the Institute of Professional Studies, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.American Alliance For health, Physical Education Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) fitness test was applied. In order to ascertain significance difference among Engineering and Pharmacy students independent t-test was employed. The level for statistical significances was set at 0.05.

44

CONCLUSIONS

1. There were no significant differences found between the Engineering and Pharmacy students on physical fitness variable arm and shoulder strength. 2. Significant differences were found between the

Engineering and Pharmacy students on physical fitness variable muscular strength and endurance. 3. There were no significant differences found between the Engineering and Pharmacy students on physical fitness variable agility. 4. There were no significant differences found between

the Engineering and Pharmacy students on physical fitness variable explosive strength.

5. There were significant differences found between the Engineering and Pharmacy students on physical fitness variable speed. 6. There were significant differences found between the Engineering and Pharmacy students on physical fitness variable cardio vascular endurance.

RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Engineering students have good physical fitness on variable ball throw than Pharmacy students which suggest that the Engineering students have more arm & shoulder strength than pharmacy students. Thus it is implied that engineering students in arm & shoulder strength should be selected for those games and physical activities which require. 2. Engineering students have good physical fitness on variable bent knee sit- ups than pharmacy students which suggests that the Engineering students have more muscular strength & endurance than pharmacy students. Thus it is implied that engineering students in muscular strength & endurance should be selected for those games and physical activities which require muscular strength & endurance. 3. Both engineering and pharmacy students are good in physical fitness on variable shuttle run which suggests that the both Engineering and pharmacy students have good

coordinative ability Thus it is implied that engineering and pharmacy students may be selected for those games and physical activities which require coordinative ability.

46

4. Engineering students have good physical fitness on variable standing broad jump than pharmacy students which suggests that the Engineering students have more explosive strength of legs than pharmacy students. Thus it is implied

that engineering students good in explosive strength of legs should be selected for those games and physical activities which require explosive strength. 5. Engineering students have good physical fitness on variable 50 meters dash than pharmacy students which suggests that Engineering students have good speed than pharmacy students. Thus it is implied that Engineering students are good in speed should be selected for those games and physical activities which require speed. 6. Both engineering and Pharmacy students have same physical fitness on variables 600 meters run/walk which suggests that the engineering and Pharmacy students have same endurance. Thus it is implied that both engineering and Pharmacy students are good in endurance may be selected for those games and physical activities which require endurance.
