Registration information:
In order to minimise impacts upon koala habitat, restrictions apply to particular properties located in Desmond Street, Narangba, Samuel Way, Narangba or Steven Court, Narangba. Contact council for further information. All animals are to wear a current registration tag. Owners may also attach private identification tags. Lifetime tags will be issued at time of registration. Animal breeders Any registered animal that is used for breeding purposes (including one-off litters), are required to apply for an animal breeder permit.

Fee exemptions:
All dogs and cats over the age of 3 months must be registered; however the following dogs are exempt from a registration fee as defined in the Animal Management Act (Cats and Dogs) 2008. Assistance dogs A working assistance dog is a dog certified by a recognised organisation under the Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dog Act 2009. A letter must be provided from the recognised organisation to be eligible for this exemption. Examples of assistance dogs include a guide dog or guide dog in training, under Guide Dogs Australia; a disability assistance dog under Assistance Dogs Australia; or a hearing dog under Lions Hearing Dogs. Government entity (service) dogs A Government entity (service) dog is a dog owned by a government entity or a person engaged or employed by the entity; and used for a purpose under an Act of the Commonwealth or a State. Examples of service dogs includes a corrective services dog under the Corrective Services Act 2006; or a drug detection dog, explosives detection dog, defence forces or police dog Rural working dogs A rural working dog is a dog kept on rural land; and is kept by an owner who is a primary producer, or a person engaged or employed by a primary producer; and the animal is used primarily for the purpose of droving, protecting, tending or working stock, or being trained in droving, protecting, tending or working stock. To be eligible for this exemption, the property must be zoned rural, an ABN provided and customer must also provide a letter stating what the dog/s are used for.

Fee concessions:
Pensioners Pensioners with a Centrelink or Veterans Affairs card are eligible for a concession on their animal renewal. A current pension card number must be provided to be eligible for this concession (Seniors cards or Health Care cards are not eligible). Desexed animals Customers must provide a copy of the desexing certificate in order to receive the desexed animal renewal rate. Registration papers from another council may be accepted as proof of desexing. Obedience certified Animals that have been assessed by an accredited professional obedience assessor or animals that have been awarded a recognised Australia National Kennel Club obedience title may be eligible to receive a reduced animal renewal rate. The Obedience concession and certification application must be provided to council to be eligible for this concession. Current members of Dogs Queensland / Feline Control Council of Queensland Inc. / Queensland Independent Cat Councils Inc / Queensland Feline Association Inc / Council of Federated Cat Clubs of Queensland Inc Current members of a recognised association are eligible for a concession on registration renewals. Proof of membership must be provided to be eligible for concession.
