PhD Annual Increases

Students should allow for an annual inflationary increase of up to 5% each year for the 2nd and 3rd years. The fee presented here is for the 1st year only.

Notes on the figures above:

1.
Maintenance levels are the basic *minimum* amounts required to meet the financial condition of admission.
Please note that overseas students are also recommended to make an extra provision of 350 to cover costs of settling when moving to the UK from overseas.
2.
Ed.D (Doctor of Education) - This course is only offered part-time over 5 years. Therefore, costs supplied in the above table are the actual
part-time costs, not full-time costs. Applicants are not requested to provide a financial guarantee for maintenance costs, but should make provision for
travel and accommodation expenses.
3.
M.A.St students are treated as undergraduates for fee purposes, and are therefore charged the undergraduate College fee. The college fee
provided is the maximum college fee charged in 11/12, please consult the college for exact college fee charges. M.A.St students from the Channel Islands
and the Isle of Man will be charged a University Composition Fee of approximately 10,428 for continuing students who started a relevant course before
1 September 2012 and 10,500 for students who start a relevant course on or after 1 September2012. Except for Mathematics M.A.St students who will
be charged approximately 8,211 for continuing students who started a relevant course before 1 September 2012 and 9,000 for students who start a
relevant course on or after 1 September 2012. The higher undergraduate fee (9,000 in 2012/13) will be charged with effect from 2015/16.

Students may be registered as ELQ for this course but there is no impact on the University fee payable.
4.
MPhil in Environmental Design & Architecture. Maintenance rates provided are for 12 months, these may need to be adjusted pro rata. The
fee for Option B of this course in the second year is 50% of the annual University Composition fee and 100% of the annual college fee.
The University Composition Fee "Old System" is 1,380 for students who started a relevant course before 1 September 2006 or who started the course before
1 September 2007 having deferred entry from an earlier year.

MPhil in Developmental Biology This course can only be taken as part of the Integrated doctoral programe (IDP) in Developmental Biology

MPhil in International Relations: maintenance rates provided are for 12 months. This will need to be adjusted pro rata if you are on the 9 month
or 11 month course

MPhil in Medical Sciences & MPhil in Veterinary Science. This course may be 1 year or 2 years in length.
