ABOUT REALITY & TRUTH: Résumé by koosraj KORA VENCIAH

1. What is the cosmos or universe?

Science: Cosmos is an organisation of matter and energy.

Basic unit of cosmos = a particle of matter and energy.

2. What is a living organism?

Science: an organism is an organisation of cells, an organisation of matter,

energy and life.

Basic unit of an organism = a living cell with a potential.

3. What is reality?

Science: reality is an experience (both past and present) of cosmos, organisms

and their interactions, an experience of objects, entities and events, that existed,
exist, might have existed or might exist. It is an experience of what is known,
knowable, felt, feelable, thought and thinkable.

The reference point of reality is ego or self.

Reality = experience.

Basic unit of reality = experience.

No experience = no reality

4. What is experience?

Science: experience is knowledge of or about something through direct

observation or indirect information. It is the process of bringing anything
(including oneself) into personal knowledge or into existence for personal
knowledge. Experience takes place in the present but may be related to the past,
present or future objects, entities or events.

Dimensions of experience:
(a) Field of experience: containing inert objects, living entities and events in the
environment, both outer and inner.
(b) Instruments of experience: sense organs and their abilities connected to the
brain + technological instruments built through scientific knowledge.
(c) Processor of experience: brain complex with its main mental faculties- mind
(apprehension: sensation & imagination), intellect (comprehension: logical &
intuitive thoughts), impulse (emotion: basic feelings & drives), and memory
(retention: storehouse of past experiences, direct, indirect, conscious or
subconscious, personal or collective)
(d) Levels of experience: conscious (wakeful, presence), subconscious (dream
or semi-presence), unconscious (sleep or absence)
(e) Centre of experience : ego or I-Me aspect of personality. It is the conscious
consistent cognitive self-centre put together by experiences. It makes ‘as if’ all
experiences occur to it and ‘as if’ all experience occurred through its own
agency. It is the essence (subtle stuff) of experience or reality.

5. What is consciousness?

Science: consciousness is knowingness, taking knowledge of anything

(including self), through which the things comes into existence or experience.

Essence of experience or reality = self-image or ego-sense

Basis of experience = consciousness.

Consciousness transformed through experience process = reality

Reality = objectified consciousness through experience process.

Consciousness unmodified or untouched by experience or self = truth

Pure, unobjectified consciousness = truth

Basis of reality, experience, organism, cosmos, self = truth

Truth = the basis of everything & everyone, everywhere, every moment.

Truth = pure consciousness untouched, unmanipulated by experience and ego.

Pure consciousness is mirrored only through meditative presence in the

herenow.

6. What is meditative presence?

Yoga: Meditative presence in the herenow is the inperience (vs. experience) of

truth. It is both a cultivated attitude (a process) and a realisation (an outcome). It
occurs only when the body & mind relaxes completely in the present moment
and plunges deeply into the silent state of pure knowingness.
