Instructions for Foreign Participants 1. Overseas participants are advised to apply for a Conference (Business) Visa stating the purpose of visit as attending the AFO program. You will need an Invitation letter from AFO, please contact AFO for the same. Alternatively, if you intended to go sight-seeing also in India, then a Tourist Visa can be applied with purpose of visit as sight- seeing. Please keep adequate cash with you in US Dollars / Euro only. Money changers available here to convert into INR as and when needed. Full fees (balance) payment to be done on first day, at the beginning of the course. 2. Full fixed orthodontic instruments and starter kit (for initial 10 cases) will cost about 1100 USD here. It is more economical to buy these from here (inquire about import laws of your country), as Indian steel is cheapest in the world. 3. Please inquire about roaming facility in Indian networks (Idea, Airtel, Aircel, BSNL, Vodaphone, MTN, Tata, Reliance) with your mobile phone service provider. It is difficult to obtain a local sim card here (inquire at the airport itself) due to heightened security concerns. Obtain a local sim card from the airport arrival lunge itself. Wireless internet access is available here and Internet cafes will be found everywhere. 4. If you have not liked Indian food before, it is advised to bring with you canned food.
