April 1, 2012 Dear Friend, When the framers of our American constitution first gathered they faced a fundamental

question. The question was not merely can we create a free republic. The question was, can we create a free republic that will remain free. Those men knew their history, and they knew that history was against them. The first step in gaining freedom was pastit was the American Revolution. Writing a constitution was the challenge ahead of them. But bigger yet was sustaining freedom. According to Os Guiness, The framers knew their history in a way many modern political leaders dont. If you have a corruption of customs, the Constitution itself will be subverted. People will follow the same laws, but with a different rationale, and youll see a steady decline. If he was right, law is not enough to sustain freedom. And this is an important distinction. We believe in the rule of law, distinct from the rule of a king. What we havent really considered is that the law can become just as tyrannical as a king. How does it happen? Look at how the courts are interpreting the law nowadays. We are no longer being governed by all the people, but by the law as interpreted by a few judges. And what is guiding the judges? The Constitution? Or the customs of the time? Mr. Guiness asked, What was the Framers solution to this? Many people think its the U.S. Constitution and law. It isnt. The other half is quite clear. . .its what I call the Little Triangle of Assumptions. First, freedom requires virtue. . . If freedom has to be guarded by laws, it will eventually be lost. . . Virtue requires faith of some sort. . . Faith requires freedom. . . If that triangle is perpetual, then freedom has a chance. . . Os Guiness is saying that the rationale behind laws is crucial. And without virtue, the whole thing may come unraveled. We have three massive contemporary menaces to faith and freedom. If the Framers were correct, those menaces will eventually affect the system and freedom will not survive. Since the 1960s, various foundational assumptions in this country have been profoundly eroded or under assault. Whats life? Is there such a thing as truth? Whats a family? Whats a marriage? Whats justice more than power? As faith goes, so goes freedom. When faith went in Germany, it produced the most horrendous evil the worlds ever seen. Are we yet to see an American evil of monumental proportions your children and grandchildren will experience? Its urgent that you get this FREE CD, Freedom and the Law, to learn the lessons from history. Standing the moral ground with love,

Allie Dart PS. *Taken from Ronald L. Darts Born to Win notes. PPS. Its so encouraging to see all the things that are going on at CEM with Gods help. As you know, we once again have the Friday night Bible study up and running and people have shared many excellent comments. Mr. Rich Glasgow has done a great job expounding the Minor Prophets. You can listen to it anytime during the week, so please make it a point to hear every word with your Bible open in front of you. Youll be surprised how much youll learn and how the Bible will become much clearer to you. We added another broadcast station this week and well soon have Sabbath Services again in CEMs office with Live streaming. Watch for that announcement. Thanks to your prayers, Ron Dart is steadily improving. Hes so anxious to be back like he was when you last saw him. Hes now taking speech therapy twice a week. Ron listens to several of his broadcasts every day with a pad and pen to jot down notes. Some of what he writes I can read and some I cant. But never mind, Rons handwriting has never been very good. Be sure to start NOW to prepare to come to the Feast in Fort Walton Beach this autumn. Set aside your festival tithe and make reservations (see our website for discounted prices). Were sparing nothing to make this the best Feast ever. One thing were doing is inviting other nearby Feast sites to join us for our social activities and for the YEA classes. All of this will mean we need volunteers! Please contact Paula Hughes at 1-888-BIBLE-44 if you will help with social activities, seminars, YEA classes, decorating classrooms, or whatever. We need you. .

The Prophecy of the Church - The letters to the seven churches in Asia were a direct communication from God in which he told them what he was pleased about and what he was disappointed in. We should look there if we ever want to know whether God is pleased with us or not. There were seven criticisms and seven admonitions for these churches that we can take to heart today. Malachi, A Prophet for the Church - The Book of Malachi contains a pattern that God laid down. He made seven points about how the people of that time had failed to worship, honor, and fear him. One can peel up that pattern and lay over the church at the end time. Since God does not change, he will look upon us in much the same terms that he looked upon those people unless we take care not to make the same mistakes. Love the Stranger - God loves the stranger and told Israel he wanted them to do the same, for they had been strangers themselves in the land of Egypt. Love for the stranger is the single most important tool in personal evangelism. This sermon lays out fundamental principles you should know and use in your own personal evangelism efforts, and shows that it really is as simple as loving people. Prayer: What Does God Require? - The object of prayer is to build a relationship with God as our heavenly Father. Jesus gave us a pattern for prayer. One of the great lessons and great works of prayer is forgiveness. We have to forgive others before we can be forgiven, for it doesnt matter if it is our own sin or the sins of others against us, if we carry them before God and cant let them go, he cannot forgive us. Our job is not to hold others accountable; thats Gods job. Your own conscience will never be clear if you cant get someone elses sin out of your life by forgiving them
