Introducing PathWay College Ministry PathWay College Ministry Did you know?

Last year we started to report in our Newsletters the birth of a new ministry among college students. Did we intend to do that? The answer is No! Our objective since our car accident was to get well and return to Australia. However, every time that we made plans for surgery and a possible return day to Australia we saw the Lord changing our plans. At the same time, the Lord set this verse as a constant reminder: Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth Psalms 46:10. During a meeting with our WOL Director Dr. Joe Jordan, he shared some words of wisdom by saying: for God there are no accidents just divine appointment. We just need to pray for Him to reveal His plan to us Since then, our prayer changed to: Lord, help me to see and understand your plan for our lives, make it simple because I am not getting it. But Lord dont use any more car accidents The Lord started to use pastor friends of us to challenge us to consider the possibility that maybe the Lord had a different field for us. Not long after we started to pray, the Lord showed us a mission field right on our door step. There are more than 10,000 college students in our county alone and more than 70,000 college students in the NC Triad, but only a handful of ministries.

So, what is our next step? Prayer Prompters

* Encouragement * Evangelism * Empowerment Since we started this ministry, we have focused our efforts to open evangelism. Plain and simple street evangelism. So far we have distributed over 3,500 gospel tracts in the streets of Elon and around Elon University. It is interesting to see the reaction of students when they are handed a gospel tract. Many read them while they continue walking, some put them away, some others reject it. Only in a few occasions we have students being rude or tearing the gospel tracts in pieces. Some students reject receiving a tract by saying: ...no thank you, I am Jewish But in all those occasions I use the opportunity to tell them ...I am Jewish too what is your

Hebrew name? Amazingly in all instances they stop and ask: ...How is that? . How can you be Jewish and a Christian?

One of those opportunities I spoke with a Jewish student whose name is Hewitt. He was wearing a soccer jersey and using soccer I had the opportu- Through these experiences the Lord is showing nity to talk to him for about 20 minutes. At the end that this ministry is making a impact at Elon. he took the gospel tract with all my details and asked if he could contact me on his return back from his summer break. What a Blessing! In another occasion, my team and I went to give gospel tracts in a coffee shop close to the university. After leaving that place we noticed a young lady following us in her car. While we were giving tracts outside Elon University, she parked her car on the curb and called me and said: ...My name

is Jackie, I am a student here at Elon and after being here for four years, I never saw anyone giving tracts as you guys you guys are bold! I just wanted to tell you that you guys have been a blessing to me Thank you! What a Blessing!

As the ministry started to grow and take shape, we approached our authorities at WOL with the assistance of Mr. Rick Brooks (WOL South Pacific Representative) and proposed to adopt our college ministry as a Word of Life program. However, due to different circumstances, WOL decided not to adopt the proposed program. WOL has been very encouraging and supportive of what we are doing with the college ministry. After we realized that we needed to decide which direction to take, WOL offered to assist us in a transition if we decided to depart WOL and pursue PathWay College Outreach Ministry. After a considerable time in prayer, Jackie and I decided to take another step of faith and remain in the USA to continue working and reaching college students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through PathWay College Outreach Ministry. This was not an easy decision for us to make. As a couple, this meant for us to surrender our families to the Lord in Australia, to surrender our teammates and friends, and to surrender our belongings that we have in Australia. Our calling is to serve Him, our commitment is to obey Him. We trust that the Lord will take care of our families. As mentioned earlier, we are taking a step of faith by changing ministries, but the Lord has been confirming every step. PathWay College Outreach Ministry has an active board of directors, so we are not without accountability. At present we are aiming to complete the transition as soon as our visas are approved.

We are amazed to see how the Lord is blessing PathWay College Ministry. Since the beginning of our college ministry we aimed to reach Elon students, but the Lord brought students to our bible studies from UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Chapel Hill and Alamance Community College. So as a team we started to pray on how to reach those campuses. Bible Distribution at Elon University. Aug 26 In our last newsletter we reported about this event and requested prayers and assistance with Bibles. Well, let me share with you what the Lord has done. The Lord blessed us with a good number of Bibles, NT, Tanach (Hebrew & English Bibles for Jewish Students). However, if anyone still wants to help us, we need assistance to print gospel tracts, brochures, flyers and information about our ministry to hand to students. Please let us know. Thank you to Pastor Black, Pastor Tim Teboe, Pastor Milton Wilder, Ms. Jackie P. & Bible Baptist Church Burlington (adult Sunday School Class) for your generosity & support.

Answers in Genesis - September 24 28 The next activity that we have in our calendars is Answers in Genesis workshop, seminars and open forum. We are also organizing a workshop for pastors, youth pastors and Sunday school teachers on Saturday September 24, venue to be confirm.
