Hearing Loop
While people with standard hearing can focus their hearing and differentiate between audible sources, hearing aides are limited. This means conventional Public Address (PA) is not suited to those with hearing impairments. About 70% of hearing aides are compatible with Hearing Loop systems, meaning PA systems, via Hearing Loop technology, can still be used to effectively reach people. Legal requirements mean that approximately 80% of proposed venues will need to cater for the hearing impaired. The technology in the HDMIIPLR is great, but the implications of that technology is what is more interesting. For the majority of people, a TV is accompanied by a stack of equipment. If you are lucky, the TV in the living room gets a sound system and maybe a Pay TV box, but nothing fancy.
