Protein is a nutrient needed by the human body for growth and maintenance. Protein is found in all cells of the body and is the major structural component of all cells in the body, especially muscle. This also includes body organs, hair and skin. Proteins also have something to do in synthesizing enzymes for immunity. Since proteins are absent in Princess diet, her growth and development is affected and may result even more to mental retardation, immune system depression and other developmental diseases. Goals and Objectives Goal: To help client improve her daughters condition by providing enough knowledge about the problem Short term objective/s: After 42 hours of series of nursing intervention and health teachings to the client, the client are able to >enumerate causes of the condition >enumerate ways to treat the condition >explain why protein is important in a growing childs diet >proper preparation of food for nutrient deficient children Interventions Health teaching on: > Causes as to why the condition happens > proper food preparation and proper food choices > ways to treat the condition at home > Importance of proteins to a growing child Rationale Evaluation To give the mother knowledge about the disease and gain a way on how to prevent malnutrition on recurring or occurring. To teach the mother how to prepare right foods for her child with the use of affordable ingredients and available foods that are free in the mmunity The client will be able to enumerate at least two of the mentioned causes of malnutrition in children The client will be able to enumerate ways on how to treat the condition at home The client will be able to explain well the importance of protein to a growing child The client is able to demonstrate skillfully the food preparation
