REJOICE AND BE GLAD

During the first three or four centuries of Christianity, if you asked a Christian to name the feast days of the church, your answer would have been a puzzled stare, for there was only one feast: the Resurrection of the Lord. Every Sunday was a feast celebrating the one great feast. Even though our calendar now has many beautiful and holy feasts, we must continually be called back to the fact that all these other feasts exist because of the feast of Christs passover from death to life. The psalm today proclaims this message well: This is the day. It is not one of many days, but it is the day of all days, the one that gives all the others their origin, purpose, meaning, and destiny. Listen carefully to Peters speech in Acts with its recollection of the Passion, to the words of the apostle Paul, and to the account of Mary Magdalene, John, and Peter finding the empty tomb, and you will hear the many wonderful works that God has done for us through Christ. Rejoice and be glad! J. S. Paluch Co.

Divine Mercy Sunday

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament , Chaplet of Divine Mercy (in English & Polish) with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Come receive and celebrate the Divine Mercy of Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord!
THE RETURN OF EASTER The return of Easter should be to the Christian life the call of a trumpet. It is the news of a great victory. It is the solution of a great perplexity. It is the assurance of a great triumph. Frederick Temple

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION It has been said that the most convincing sign of the Risen Christ is the Risen Christian. Today, in parishes around the world, new life is drawn from the waters of baptism, and new Christians are thrilled to see the crowds pour in to join in the feast. On Easter, we do not say the Creed, but rather renew our baptismal promises with hearty responses. We are taking the first joyful steps on a fifty-day-long celebration. In the southern hemisphere, the world is slipping into winter, but for us in North America, the earth itself seems to sing hymns to Christs victory. Look this morning for the fresh paschal candle standing near the baptismal waters. It was consecrated in the hours of the night, will burn brightly for fifty days whenever we gather for prayer, and will glow again at every baptism and every funeral in the year ahead. Even though we may be gathered around the candle someday in sadness, todays joy at Christs victory over death will shine through. James Field, Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.

PASCHAL CANDLE
The large candle at the pulpit is called the Easter or paschal candle. It was lighted at the Easter Vigil and is symbolic of the Risen Christ. It is ornamented and has imbedded grains which represent 5 wounds of Christ. May the Easter Candle dispel the darkness of night, a flame divided but undimmed that glows to honor God. Let it mingle with the lights of Heaven and continue burning to dispel the darkness of night. ...RESURRECTION SYMBOLS SUNRISE - from early Christian times the sunrise symbolized Jesus rising from the dead. Crosses were even specially hung on the east walls of their dwelling pointing to the importance of belief in the resurrection of their lives. WATER, FLOWERS - new life, new beginnings in the risen Lord - remembering Baptism and birth to life in the death and resurrection of Jesus. CANDLE, LIGHT - again Jesus in his resurrection brings light to darkness, hope to our despair, warmth to our coldness. EGG - as from the hardness of the egg can come new life so for us future hope in the life of the risen Lord. ALLELUIA - our shout of praise for our risen Savior joyfully proclaiming the loving kindness of our Fathers care for his people.

OUR WEEKLY OFFERING

WEEKEND OF MARCH 24/25, 2012 $15,589.00

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT
N e x t S u nd a y S e c on d C o ll e c t i o n On the weekend of April 14/15 2012 we will take up Second Collection for the Parish Needs. Your contribution will support the growing costs of maintenance of the church, school, convent and the parish grounds.
We appreciate your continued support and generosity.

We are so accustomed to hearing of Jesus risen from the dead that we could say, Oh yeawe know all about it and miss the grace of this holy season of Easter. But think about it, Jesus rose from the dead! Death is not the end. It is only the door to beyond. Although our body will return to dust, our soul will live forever with God. What is the purpose of life? What is your goal in life? Where is your heart in life? Life has only one ultimate goal, to prepare for the next life, and if you are not preparing for your own resurrection you are like a train that has become derailed. What happens to a train that gets derailed? It goes nowhere. Can you take your house to heaven with you? Then why make such a fuss about your house? Can you take your car to heaven with you? Well then, why become so engrossed in your car? Can you take your bank account to heaven with you? Use your money for the spread of the Gospel. Why are you so busy that you have no time to pray to God every day? It is God you want to meet in the next life, isnt it? I cannot understand anyone who says they believe in God but do not pray every day. It is a contradiction to say that you believe in God but do not pray.We have a wonderful future ahead of us. We will be resurrected like Jesus. For us, our homeland is in heaven, and from heaven comes the Savior we are waiting for, the Lord Jesus Christ, and he will transfigure these wretched bodies of ours into copies of his glorious body. (Phil 3:20) Just think of it, you will be transformed to become glorious like Jesus. Do you live like someone who believes in such a glorious future? If you do, surely everything in this world takes on a new perspective, so that, as I said earlier, we do not become possessed by our possessions. And since you will be transfigured, will be glorious like the risen Jesus, why do you not pray for a substantial amount of time every day? Do you see why I say it is a contradiction to say that you believe in God if you dont pray? The reason we have so many problems is because we dont pray enough. Pray, pray, pray. Again, what is life all about? Our homeland is in heaven, and from heaven comes the Savior we are waiting for, the Lord Jesus Christ, and he will transfigure these wretched bodies of ours into copies of his glorious body. (Phil 3:20)

wiconka i jej symbole

Bogosawiestwo pokarmw, zwane wiconk, szczyci si duszym rodowodem. Potem dodawano kolejno ser, maso, ryby, olej, pokarmy misne, ciasto i wino. Na kocu wicony kosz zosta uzupeniony jajkiem i pozostaymi pokarmami. Warto pamita, e dobr potraw w koszyku nigdy nie by przypadkowy. Chleb we wszystkich kulturach ludzkoci by i jest pokarmem podstawowym, niezbdnym do ycia. Wrd chrzecijan zawsze by symbolem nad symbolami - przedstawia bowiem Ciao Chrystusa. Jajko jest dowodem odradzajcego si ycia, symbolem zwycistwa nad mierci. Uroczyste niadanie wielkanocne poprzedza ceremonia dzielenia si powiconym jajkiem i yczeniami ktre skladaj sobie nawzajem uczestnicy.. Sl to minera yciodajny. Bez soli nie ma ycia. Wdlina zapewnia zdrowie a take dostatek, bo przecie nie kady mg sobie pozwoli na ten szczeglny pokarm. Kiedy by to choby plaster szyneczki, a od XIX wieku synna polska kiebasa. Ser jest symbolem zawartej przyjazni midzy czowiekiem a siami przyrody. Chrzan zawsze by starym ludowym znamieniem wszelkiej siy i fizycznej krzepy.
