Received call from one of his friends (Priyantha) working for the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to come to the junction, and when he went, was pushed into a white van. Witnesses had seen Priyantha and a person called Thushara (driver of Senior Superintendent of Police Mathew) putting Gayantha in to the van. Thushara had previously threatened and tried to kill the victim. Police had not taken action against suspects named despite being informed.
