Jeff Crosier, S.E.

PrinciPal

As Principal, Jeff Crosier leads an engineering team to develop innovative structural and seismic engineering solutions for the next generation of learning environments. Inspired by the effect that their designs have on the safety and enhancement of the learning process, Mr. Crosier strives to craft spaces that support both design and function. Mr. Crosiers broad-based experience includes developing detailed program plans, designing new structures and rehabilitating existing buildings with both conventional and alternative construction methods. In addition, he has served as plan checker in all four DSA regions within the State of California.

Tulsa West Parking Facility, Tulsa, Oklahoma
Mr. Crosier served as Principal Structural Engineer for this 1198 car, six story parking structure. The structural system consists is a long span cast-in-place, posttensioned concrete, shear wall system supported by deep drilled pier foundations to mitigate the effects of poor local soil conditions. The structural engineering team was able to integrate the featured stair tower design into the structure by developing alternate retaining wall solutions to allow access to all levels and to economically construct the tower to architecturally integrate with the adjacent City Center of this Municipal project. anaheim Hilton Hotel renovation, anaheim, ca
Situated in the tourist mecca of Orange County, Miyamoto International provided structural engineering work renovating the lobby, ballrooms, food court and guest rooms. The Anaheim Hilton is OCs largest hotel and is adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center and across the street from Disneyland. Due to its location, it generates extremely high foot traffic and is considered one of the OCs most successful hotels since its completion in the mid 80s.

3300 Hyland Seismic Assessment & Retrofit, Costa Mesa, CA

Miyamoto engineers performed an ASCE 31 Tier 1 and Tier 2 seismic assessment of this three story, 175,000 SF laboratory and office building located in Costa Mesa, CA. The building was constructed in the last 1960s with a first level lateral force resisting system of cantilevered concrete columns (C1) and two stories above that of pre-Northridge steel moment frame lateral system. Miyamotos ASCE 31 assessments led the owner to desire a seismic upgrade to assure enhanced performance in future events.

Pacific Life Office Building, Aliso Viejo, CA

This project is a commercial Class-A, 9-story, 247,000 SF steel framed office building with a 6-level parking structure connected by a pedestrian bridge. It will serve as the headquarters of Pacific Lifes Life Insurance Division and accommodate approximately 1,000 employees. Our team utilized slotted web moment connections in its lateral-load resisting system to reduce steel tonnage while providing improved moment frame performance. Located in the San Joaquin Hills, it will be the first time in 10 years Pacific Life has consolidated all of its Life Insurance employees in one building.

Summit Oaks Office Building, Santa Clarita, CA

Miyamoto International provided structural engineering services for this five-story, Class-A, 145,000 SF steel-framed building, located in the Valencia Gateway, one of northern Los Angeles Countys most desirable master planned development. The Valencia Gateway is a consortium of business, technology and industry comprised of 1,430 companies and 45,000 employees . Summit Oaks is visible from the 5 fwy, and positioned at the entry of Newhall Ranch, a master planned community of 21,000 homes. The facility uses slotted-web steel moment connections in its lateral force resisting system to reduce overall steel tonnage while improving building performance. The building features 28,000 SF floor plates, first-class common areas, plenty of light and natural finishes

Hait Damage Assessments, Over 200,000 Buildings (MTPTC), Republic of Haiti
Provided damage risk assessments using ASCE 31 functions in response to the urgent priority to provide adequate shelter to close to one million displaced Haiti natives. Projects are being funded by the World Bank and operated in congruence with UNOPS. ATC-20 detailed earthquake damage and safety detailed evaluation procedures are being used (adapted to Haiti construction) to identify existing damage at UN facilities. FEMA-310 components are being used to provide probabilistic damage functions as part of the comprehensive recovery plan.
