CONFIGURE VIRTUAL MACHINE NAT (VMnet8): Allows you to connect to the 8.0 sim from host OS or another VM (within player). Bridged (VMnet0): Allows you to connect to the 8.0 sim from outside the host. Setup Hints and Tricks: 1. Choose NAT for first 2 network adapters 2. Start VM, then open a command prompt and type: ipconfig /all 3. Look for the VMnet8 IP address (e.g.. 192.168.47.1) 4. Assign the sim IP addresses in the same subnet (e.g.. 192.168.47.10)

VMWARE VIRTUAL SWITCH OPTIONS (HIDDEN) Bridged (VMnet0): Connects a VM directly to the physical network. If your host computer is on a network, bridged networking is often the easiest way to give your virtual machine access t th t network. The virtual network adapter i th it l hi to that t k Th i t l t k d t in the virtual machine connects to the physical network adapter in your host computer, allowing it to connect to the LAN that the host computer uses. Bridged networking configures your virtual machine as a unique identity on the network, separate from and unrelated to its host. Bridged networking makes the virtual machine visible to other computers on the network, and they can communicate directly with the virtual machine. Bridged networking works with both wired and wireless physical host network cards. NAT (VMnet8): Configures a VM to share hosts IP and MAC addresses. The virtual machine and the host share a single network identity that is not visible outside the network. NAT can be useful when your network administrator lets you use a single IP address or MAC address. If you cannot give your virtual machine an IP address on the external network, you can use NAT to give your virtual machine access to the Internet or another TCP/IP network. NAT uses the host computers network connection NAT works with Ethernet DSL and computer s connection. Ethernet, DSL, phone modems. Host-only (VMnet1): Creates a private network that is contained within the host computer. Host-only networking provides a network connection between the virtual machine and the host computer, using a virtual network adapter that is visible to the host operating system. This approach can be useful to set up an isolated virtual network. In this configuration, the virtual machine cannot connect to the Internet.
