2.

Admissions Quota

A limited number of students are offered admissions to each academic department or program. The department can refuse to receive students, if none of the applicants fulfil the department's criteria. (Criteria may vary by department.) Transfer students should NOT apply (will NOT be accepted).

3.

Eligibility

Master's Degree and combined Master's and Doctorate Degree Applicant should meet one of the following eligibility clauses: 1) The applicant and both parents of the applicant must have a nationality other than Korean. 2) The applicant must have completed or is expected to complete 16 years of primary and secondary education (elementary to post-secondary) outside Korea and must have a Bachelor's degree at the time of application.

Doctorate Degree 1) The applicant and both parents of the applicant must have a nationality other than Korean. 2) The applicant must have completed or is expected to complete 16 years of primary and secondary education (elementary to post-secondary) outside Korea and must have a Bachelor's degree at the time of application.

Korean,English Languages Proficiency Applicants are eligible if they satisfy one of the following from #1~#7 or are planning to take #8: 1) Enrolled in a Korean language program in Korea for over 1 year. (The Korean language program is valid only if offered through a 4 year university in Korea.) 2) Graduated (Bachelor's degree or higher) with a major in Korean in a foreign country. 3) Completed more than 2 years of higher education in Korea. 4) Graduated from 12 years of education at a Korean School located overseas. 5) Have resided in Korea for 2 years or more. 6) Applicant who obtained TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 3 (must obtain TOPIK Level 4 or above before graduation). 7) Applicant who have TOEFL 550, CBT 210, iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550 or equivalent official english exam score can apply regardless of Korean Language proficiency. 8) Conditionally admitted students must register and complete a Korean language program in an institution that has been confirmed by the dean of the graduate school. 9) Regardless of articles 1~8, applicants wishing to apply to the Department of

Communication and Journalism (Seoul campus) must attain a TOPIK level 5 or above, and must obtain TOPIK level 6 within 6 months after admission. - 4 -

An overall evaluation of submitted documents and an interview. Some departments will hold an additional Interview or performance test.
* Applicants residing in Korea must have a direct interview with the professor. * Applicants residing outside of Korea must have an interview by email, phone, or videophone and prepare other procedures via the same method. * Contact addresses are attached to this guideline.

 Before Submitting Documents

Applicant can submit an application to one department and one campus only. (Cannot be admitted to each campus simultaneously). The campus, department (Major) and course must filled out exactly. If these are incorrect, the applicant cannot revise the application after admission. The name and the date of birth on your documents must exactly match the name on your passport. The Graduate School of Kyung Hee University and Kyung Hee University are not responsible for any disadvantages from typing errors and/or missing documents. All documents must be originals accompanied by translations and notarization in Korean or English, if it is in another language. - Every submitted document's date of issue must be within 3 months - Submitted documents will not be returned if not attached to another copy. - If original documents are unable to reissued and the applicant wants to submit copied documents, s/he must bring the original copy to compare the copy to the original for certification. Other documents besides the required documents above could be required to confirm the validity (e.g> eligibility). If any ineligible/unqualifying factors are found during screening, the applicant will be expelled from admissions, and the application fee will not be refunded. An applicant submitting the Certificate of Entry & Departure Records should submit a full record for the years of primary and secondary school. Any false records or double passports will result in the revocation of the application and admission even after matriculation. Students who have not graduated at the time of application must submit a certificate of graduation within 15 days of graduation. otherwise admission will be canceled. Art & PE major applicants should submit portfolios or research results directly to the professor while interviewing. Admitted students should receive a Level 4 on the TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) or present equivalent records after admission.

Important Notes

1) The student will not be considered for admission if the information on the application is incorrect or if the student fails to submit all application documents or if student is found to be in violation of regulations, and can be expelled even after the certificate of admission has been issued. 2) After the application is submitted, the applicant cannot modify/cancel submitted documents. All submitted documents will not returned and the admission fee is non-refundable. 3) Registered students are required to obtain insurance (which university recommends) until the end of graduation on your own expenses. It is essential for admission. 4) After the commencement of application screening, all matters are decided by KHU's graduate school regulations. 5) Confirmation of admissions will be decided by law of the graduate school. The department can refuse to receive students, if none of applicants pass the department's criteria. (Criteria may vary by department) 6) The applicant must provide phone numbers and e-mail addresses which can be used to directly contact applicants or parents during the admissions period. (The university is NOT responsible for any consequences resulting from incorrect contact information on the application.) 7) The Tuition Fee table attached to this guideline is for the 2011 academic year. Korean ability : TOPIK level 4 or higher (Those who do not have sufficient Korean language abilities can apply on the condition that after admission they must complete a Korean language course which is assigned by the dean of the graduate school at their own expense.) (including co-author) 2) Doctoral Courses Humanities and Social Sciences, Art and Physical Education: Publish more than one article in an academic journal which is higher than those registered in the NRF.(Main author) Engineering, Natural and Applied Sciences, Medicine: Publish more than one article in an academic journal which is higher than those registered in the SCI(E).(Main author) Terms of Scholarships Action against students who do not fulfill the Terms of Scholarship Violation Students will not receive the degree.

Important Notes

a. Students receiving scholarships are not allowed to take on T.A. or similar duties. b. Students receiving scholarships may not receive more than one scholarship.

Selected Students must meet the Terms of Scholarship, and the recommending (future supervising) professor is also responsible for the student's adherence to the Terms. Forms without the signature of the professor will not be accepted.
