ABSTRACT
One of the many challenges of todays society is maintaining our lifestyle with minimal repercussions to the environment. In todays world of increasing population and due to that increase in pollution had become a great problem. Also the need for the alternative fuels are increased due to the thing that petroleum and diesel are going to vanish within next 30 years or so along with the increasing prices of the fuels. A successful policy for the 21st century will rely on a multitude of solutions that emerge from those closest to the problem.

The compressed air vehicles are the best solution to this problem because it does not produce the harmful side effects as in other alternative fuel vehicles and also it is economical and totally safe. The CAV only gets the required energy for the actuation from the process of compression and decompression of the air, which is enormously present in this world in the renewable form. These are vehicles, which can work together with the air world system. these are called as ZERO EMISSION CATS in USA. These vehicles can be incorporated with duel fuel system with petrol or diesel.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION

The invention of the wheel manifested the era of easy transportation. With development of automobiles, there came the need for powering it. Gasoline solved the need. Petroleum obtained from the gasoline is being used till date to run automobiles. But petroleum being a non-renewable resource, in required technical terms, a soon-to-vanish fossil fuel, and also contributing a lot to the rising crisis of air pollution, its time for us to choose an alternate fuel which would invalidate or retard this crucial catastrophe.

On considering the cost, efficiency, availability and affordability factors, the one with maximum votes is compressed air. Just an air compressor and the fuel is turned out. A domestic vehicle running on compressed air as fuel is more efficient and affordable than one running on fossil fuel. Thus bearing in mind the future of our future cohort, we are bound to opt for compressed air as our fuel of the future.
