The Company Montys Plant Food Company, Inc., founded in 1997 in Louisville (Kentucky, USA) manufactures, markets and sells natural plant food and plant enhancement products. The company remains committed to find and utilize the best resources and latest technologies to produce products that assist in promoting a healthier, more efficient and better yielding crop. Hereby new and innovative methods are being used; Montys is always open for new ideas and is continuously searching for new strategic alliances, in order to enhance synergy. Since autumn 2009, Monty's Plant Food B.V. has obtained an independent agency of Montys for, a.o. Benelux, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Rumania, Ukraine, Spain, Portugal, Ghana, Surinam, Brazil and Argentina. What is a Chemical Fertilizer? Chemical fertilizers are synthetic products and are therefore highly dependent on gas- and oil prices. These fertilizers contain high levels of macronutrients (NPK = Nitrogen, Phosporous and Potassium) but are significantly decreasing the microbiological activity in the soil. Consequently the uptake of nutrients by the plant is effectively low which causes leeching of polluting nitrates and phosphates from the soil into the environment. On top of that, the production of fertilizers is causing a high CO2 release into the atmosphere. What is an Organic Fertilizer? Organic fertilizers contain decayed natural organic materials, in our case we are using decayed organic materials which are extracted from brown coal (so-called humates of millions of years old). This natural organic fertilizer stimulates the growth of micro-organism in the soil. Excessive usage does not harm the plant. The nutrients in these materials are slowly and effectively taken up by the plant. The production is CO2-neutral, it improves the soil structure (and consequently the moisture retention) and are remedying fluctuations in soil Ph values by buffering. The products Sodium- and potassium salts of humic acids also called humates are applied to combat environmental pollution caused by toxic impacts of herbicides, pesticides and heavy metals. Humic substances immobilize heavy metals and they remedy degraded and contaminated soils.

Montys has developed a molecule, based upon these humates, named HumiginTM. This molecule has been designed as a soil conditioner to treat heavily contaminated soils by neutralizing contaminants and helping the soil regain its natural biological balance by stimulating micro organisms. Montys is a combination of an organic liquid NPK fertilizer on one hand and HumiginTM on the other. The synergy of these two components gives therefore the confidence to assert, that Montys has the attributes and gives the results that are prescribed in FAOs (US Food and Agriculture Organization) definition of Sustainable Agriculture. Montys plant food is a fertilizer helping plants taking up nutrients. As a soil conditioner, it helps increasing the microbiological activity in the soil. Through a well balanced NPK nutrient system, it provides an efficient way of fertilizing plants. On 1 ha., with 5 litres Montys more nutrients are taken up by the plant than with 400 kilos chemical fertilizer. 4000 kilo chemical fertilizer will cover 10 ha. of fertilization; but 4000 litres Montys will cover 800 ha.! Montys is at least 20% cheaper than equivalent chemical fertilizer systems on a hectare on hectare basis, as applied, and because of the increase in yields, the economics are even greater. The loss of a nitrogenous fertilizer in the soil is about 80%. There is at least 20% of the chemical fertilizer taken up by the plant. This mathematically means, that out of the 400 kilos chemical fertilizer, 80 kilos should be absorbed, compared to 5 litres Montys. Montys acts as a catalyst to plants, and is in principle applicable to any type of crop. The unique composition of the ingredients of this product allows the plant, through its roots and foliar, to absorb the abundance of nutrients freely available in the atmosphere and in the soil air. Under normal circumstances, these can not be taken up by the plant. Montys is highly concentrated and harmless. Being compact, it is both cheap and easy to transport and store, and safe to be around the homestead and children. It is safe to apply and can be applied with existing equipment.

Montys Plant Food Products 4-15-12 Green Label Seed Starter A broad use liquid seed starter for quicker germination, increases root formation, and early absorption of critical nutrients. This formulation promotes early root vigor and assists in developing early resistance. Use this formulation to provide early vigor in germinating seeds and seedlings.

8-16-8 Yellow Label Growth A foliar plant food, that can also be used in the root zone, this formula promotes new growth, root and top growth and larger foliage. Use this formulation to increase plant growth after seed germination.

Montys liquid formulation

1. Soil air is composed of circa 75% nitrogen. Microbes extract nitrogen from soil air and make it available to plants through a process called nitrogen fixation. Soils that are rich and loamy with active microbial life allow for this process. Montys enhances the conditions which support this process in the following ways: Montys develops large root structures that open up the soil and Montys improves the cation exchange capacity of soils, which enhances the ability of microbes to fix nitrogen. Traditional fertilizers, due to salts, will reduce bacterial life and compact the soil thereby reducing microbial life and limiting nitrogen fixation.

2. Montys acts as a soil conditioner and as such increases the micro biological activity in the soil, fostering soil animal life such as earthworms, which maximizes the absorption of nutrients, and water, by the root system. 3. Montys deep penetration into the soil, through the plant and the soil (its a liquid), carries phosphorus to the roots and allows the plant to grow a stronger network of roots and feeder roots, increasing the total root surface, which further helps to maximize the uptake of nutrients in the soil, while giving the plant more protection from disease and extreme weather conditions. 4. The stronger root system, and cell structure, contributes to a more abundant foliage with larger leaves. Montys foliar application not only helps the intake of nutrients from the air, but when applied with a herbicide Montys will spread the solution across a greater leaf surface and assist its intake into the leaf and throughout the plant, thus making herbicide more efficient. 5. Another contributing factor includes our use of kelp as a source of nitrogen. The nitrogen source provides an enzyme that captures nitrogen and converts the bound product into a usable form. 6. Montys acts as a hydro-sieve in controlling the amount of water delivered to the plant. This principle is observed at the seed germination process as well as the latter growth stages, once moisture has been reduced by the lack of rainfall. In stressful situations such as drought the plants are able to continue some growth after other plants slow down because the slow release of moisture that comes from our carbon source.
