Established: 2004 The Centre is in operation at present with ten (11) equipped laboratories. Each of the floor is having 10000 sft area. The fifth and sixth floor of the Centre is now in full operation with three more advanced R&D laboratories (Material Science, Food Analysis, and Pilot Plant Research Laboratory and Tissue Culture Laboratory). The second floor of the Centre is having one six well-furnished guest rooms and a cafeteria. This cafeteria is open only for the stuffs of the Dhaka University for lunch. First floor of the Centre is having one conference room with 90 seats and is available for the workshop, conference and seminars on payment basis. There is one committee room in the ground floor of the centre with 30 seats. 500 KVA generator for alternate electricity supply supports the electricity of the Centre during power failure

1. Study on -thalassemia gene screening for diagnosis of high frequency single gene disorder

Service provided:

1. HID analysis method developed at the DNA sequencing laboratory and 22 samples have
been analyzed for immigration/paternity test/siblings. The service on payment basis is open for all.

2. 300 Samples have been sequenced for CARS as well as; (i) (ii)
(iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (vii) samples of the external clients on payment basis samples for the thesis students from Centre and other Departments of DU Nano drop facility is also given to different Faculties Gel Documentation/PCR/Centrifuge services are also supported HPLC service to faculties and External clients FT-IR service to faculties and external clients TGA, SEM service to faculties and external clients

Online Library Materials: Journal can be accessed through AGORA, HINARI, OARE and Dhaka University E-resources. Through these access about 9-10 thousands of journals can be read and downloaded. Centre has initiated a Postdoctoral Fellowship program for supporting research activities.
