April 10, 2012 On the first day of the training, Sir Marcelo Migue, the head of the Materials Management Department (MMD) oriented me about the overall function of the department in the entire company. Its task is to receive all the materials from a simple piece of ballpen up to huge electrical equipments owned by the company. The department is the one responsible in receiving the materials for storage in their bin. The department is also the one responsible for issuing materials to line men or other personnel either from the Davao Light or from their sister Companies that will need the proper materials in repairing or other essential operations. I was also oriented that the department have an inventory system which includes and holds

all the records of all the materials in the bin. It is updated time to time to ensure the accuracy of the records. I observed that it uses the oracle database software. I travel around and tour the warehouse in which the materials are located. I also started familiarizing and knowing the uses of some materials with the aid of the personnels around.

April 12, 2012 Have undergone some observations on the actual receiving of the materials and so for issuance of materials. It is all systematically and accurately done with the personnel assigned with each task on the procedure. Questions are clearly answered by the knowledgable personnels on the department. Overall, familiarizing the line materials and the inventory system are accomplished.
