Reflections on Mimio PD Mimio PD 19 April with Lindsay Moore from MimioConnect.

Notes taken during workshops Very worthwhile and informative sessions. Initially recapped on using tools which then evolved into quite a session! Setting up the thumbnails menu and toolbar to suit you the user: Thumbnails are like Ppt to show what pages you have up. Good for navigation. Make sure you update versions Presentation mode last icon on bottom toolbar same as slideshow. Click icon again to go back to design. Drag toolbar to suit teaching style Double click on blue brush the tool box will roll up, Pen settings: Tools Make sure it is on Use previously calibration Auto enable devices.

The bar should be on top left edge and 50mm from keep bar not right on edge of screen Leave pen controls on default.

Using the pen Changing colours:

Changing the page colour blue and light brown are the best for viewing Hover pen and press b button which will bring up menu including background or use insert menu:

Set image to go on each page :

Need to resize image before importing

To make a logo you need to set up a template.

Use select tool to change colour or whatever.

Clean board with meths Group under format menu With pen hover over word to bring up grouping menu.

Tools -Recognise text Change text by left mouse text bar

Set up text tools:

To change from key board to writing go to bottom menu by left menu hidden icons etc.

This will convert to text when you write text box must be up Good for brainstorming

Write using the pen on the writing pad.

This will erase etc..

Must have a text box/cursor flashing or word pad will not work.

Copy and paste from writing pad Each of the tool icons with a little triangle will bring up a menu e.g. by pen, shapes etc..

Clips the last image opened.

Deleting Drag to trashcan; cut; undo redo buttons on bottom toolbar or select and use red cross and bottom menu Cut copy paste also on bottom toolbar Save docs as ink file allows editing other file formats means it is flattened but if sharing without mimio programs. Screen annotation: Takes a picture of your mimio screen: Saves to your gallery in Screen annotations. Write click on it to bring up properties to rename it To find objects in the gallery: Maximise the window. Explore the gallery has dice that roll/fractions wall, have a good look at what is in there. Create pull sheets Make a rectangle/ add and arrow or image

Open a new window and copy to it -put on the side.

You can then pull it across as an object. You can also save it as an object, Make a new folder

Then you can pull the objects out

Insert a video into mimio Save video to this folder then Mimio can find the file to hyperlink to and will go there c.f. a file on my computer this way it can be shared with another user/computer
