SAN DIEGO

Pastors Corner ~
LEADERSHIP AND SHEPHERDING LOVE
Leadership can make or break the life and destiny of an organization. Good leadership and governance may bring progress while corrupt leadership and governance may cause downfall and chaos. The People of God, the Church, which is no different from other institutions and organizations in many human aspects, also need good leaders and good governance. Jesus Himself showed that Gods people need leaders that are willing and able to meet the demands of the flock, not just on the material aspects but especially on their spiritual life. Shepherding love is Gods way of showing his abiding presence. As a Shepherd, he guides his flock to green pasture which is life of grace and goodness and He protects them from dangers. The Good Shepherd presents a model of leadership in any aspect of life, whether in the family, religious, political, social and even the global and international spheres. Good leadership promotes and protects life and human dignity, works for progress without abuse of nature, promotes justice and common good. Good leaders are visionaries, looking beyond the present and ensuring a brighter future. Good leaders are committed to giving without counting the cost, even to the ultimate act of giving their lives for the sake of the people they serve. Good leaders are true image of Christ the Good Shepherd.
