Reasons to allow drinking at work

The below are valid reasons as to why drinking should be allowed at work. If you use them wisely, you may even be able to convince your boss to allow alcohol. 1. Its an incentive to show up. 2. It reduces stress. 3. It leads to more honest communications. 4. It reduces complaints about low pay. 5. It cuts down on time off because you can work with a hangover. 6. Employees tell management what they think, not what management wants to hear. 7. It helps save on heating costs in the winter. 8. It encourages carpooling. 9. Increases job satisfaction because if you have a bad job you dont care. 10. It eliminates vacations because people would rather come to work. 11. It makes fellow employees look better. 12. It makes the cafeteria food taste better. 13. Bosses are more likely to hand out raises when they are wasted. 14. Salary negotiations are a lot more profitable.

Whats the difference between unique and very unique? When do you become important enough to be considered assassinated and not just murdered? Can you cry under water? Who decided that a round pizza should be put in a square box?

Personnel Evaluation Quotes

Since my last report, this employee has reached rock bottom...and has started to dig. His men would follow him anywhere,...but only out of morbid curiosity. I would not allow this employee to breed. This employee is really not so much of a has-been, but more of a definite wont be. Works well when under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in a trap. When she opens her mouth, it seems that it is only to change feet. He would be out of his depth in a parking lot puddle. This young lady has delusions of adequacy. He sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them. This employee is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot. This employee should go far,...and the sooner he starts, the better. Has a full 6-pack, but lacks the plastic thing to hold it all together. A gross ignoramus - 144 times worse than an ordinary ignoramus. He certainly takes a long time to make his pointless. He doesnt have ulcers, but hes a carrier. I would like to go hunting with him sometime. Hes been working with glue too much. He would argue with a signpost. He has a knack for making strangers immediately. He brings a lot of joy whenever he leaves the room. When his IQ reaches 50, he should sell. If you see two people talking and one looks bored,... hes the other one.

MANAGERS CORNER
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THE CASE OF A DISASTER FLOOD, MAJOR EARTHQUAKE??? ARE YOU PREPARED? In such a tragic event the community must unite to ensure the safety of those in need. A disaster emergency evacuation plan is in place, but is only effective if we have the individual residents delegated to the proper roles of the plan. Without block captains designated for each street, lives could be in danger and proper care for elderly, children and those in need lost. Please stop by the office to request a copy of the plan and, more importantly, become involved in what is the most important community group at Spanish Ranch #1. Spring time is here, the flowers are blooming, the trees are blooming and the nice weather is here to stay for the summer. Awww you all guessed it; I am leading into the topic of Annual Lot Inspections. They are coming to a space near you, so keep an eye out for your paperwork! Speeding continues to be a HUGE headache within the confines of our Community. Please be aware of your speed (The posted speed limit in the Park is 15 MPH). The pool is open. A copy of the Pool Rules is available in the main offices. Come by and pick up a copy. There have been a few reports of theft (none in writing). It appears that these incidents are mostly regarding bicycles. To prevent this from occurring to you, please insure that your bicycles are securely locked up out of sight behind your sheds or in your shed. In the event that you are a victim of a burglary or theft you may contact the Hayward Police department non-emergency number. That phone number is 510-293-7000. You also may make a report online by going to the following webpage: http://www.ci.hayward. ca.us/departments/police/spolice.shtm On the left hand side of this webpage, page near the top there is a blue colored hot spot designated File a police report online. Remember, it is a CRIME to file a false police report! When you receive your police report, please provide a copy to the office so we can put it into your file. Coffee is available in the clubhouse for our residents from 9 am until the afternoon. Come on by and pay us a visit. Guillermos Corner Please remember that the gutter space in front of your home is your responsibility to keep clean. Pull up your driveway approach ramps and sweep the leaves and other debris before you wash the area down with water. Unauthorized parking still remains a problem. Remember, you may park in the front of your home for loading and unloading only. This means a period of less than 10 minutes. Unauthorized parking in visitors parking is against the rules and regulations. What is a guest or a visitor you may ask. That definition is covered in the Rule(s) and Regulation(s) as follows: 2. GUESTS A. All guests must register in the Park if they stay more than a total of 20 consecutive days or 30 days in a calendar year. No guest may stay for over 60 days in any calendar year. B. You must acquaint all of your guests with the conditions of tenancy of the Park, including these Rules and Regulations. You are also personally responsible for all the actions and conduct of your guests. Except when your guests are entering and leaving the Park, you must accompany them at all times they are in the Park. If you will not be present, your guest may not occupy or use the mobile home without our consent. Garbage in the car wash areas is a continuing issue. Keep in mind, disposing of any type of material OVER the fence into the creek areas may be a County or State Offense and can be met with stiff fines and other penalties. Thanks for all the help in reporting inoperative street lights. Keep up the good work! Jeff Stoops Assistant Manager

sponsored by the SR1 Association Disaster Committee and NERT

The City of Hayward, the County of Alameda and the State of California all have comprehensive disaster plans in place, but they may not be able to respond to individuals in the event of a major event. We have to be ready to take care of ourselves, and to check on our neighbors and help each other.

Ask for your emergency evacuation plan for Spanish Ranch 1 from the office today!
Come and get information about how to be prepared, as well as information about the parks disaster plan as a whole. Pick up a handy guide from the USGS: Protegiendo a su familia de los terremotos Los siete pasos a la seguridad para prepararse en case de un terremoto.
Protecting your family from earthquakes The seven steps to earthquake safety.

Please come and be a part of this effort! Stop by and pick up printed material and talk with our recent CERT graduates and other volunteers. Help us help you! If you have questions, check your El Toro and call NERT or any member of the Board. Refreshments will be served. 7

Have you had something stolen from your property or vehicle? Or suffered damage to your yard, your house or your car but figured it wasnt worth reporting, or the police wont do anything anyway?

ANY CRIME IS WORTH REPORTING!

If they dont know it happened, how can they stop it from happening again?

Let the police know about that fountain stolen from your yard, or the tools taken from your driveway or porch. File a report about the unidentified car that mowed down your mailbox or ran over your solar lights. It might seem trivial, and youre probably right that nobody will come and investigate, but statistics count.

A steady flow of bargain hunters rewarded the two dozen vendors at the March flea market. Despite, or perhaps because of, the steady drizzle, a goodly crowd of browsers kept the merchandise moving and the snack bar humming. Table reservations were handled by Patty Little, Joe HigmanBailey set up the tables (we lucked out and didnt have to break down because the carpet was scheduled to be shampooed), Marvin Daley toted stuff to the thrift store-bound truck, Dawn Plaskon ran the snack bar and the Association coffers were substantially rewarded by the event. Minutes of the SR1 Board MeetingApril 5, 2012

Meetings of the elected Spanish Ranch I Executive Board are held on the first Thursday of each month (unless otherwise announced) at 7:00 p.m. in the main clubhouse. ALL residents are welcome to attend! The April 5, 2012 Annual General Membership Meeting of Spanish Ranch 1 Association was called to order at 7 p.m. by President Dawn Plaskon. Present were Dawn, Jeanie, Ruth, Marvin and Clint. Peggy was out of town and excused. Jerry and Barbara were at a city council hearing. Judy and Patty were absent. Due to a snafu in scheduling, the meeting was held in the small clubhouse. Minutes Approval of the minutes of the March 2012 meeting was tabled as the El Toros had not yet arrived. Treasurers Report In the absence of the Treasurer, there was no report. A copy was emailed for publication. Election of Officers Jeanie and Peggy agreed to continue as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Clint, Barbara , Marvin and Jerry were willing to continue to serve on the board. Elected for the openings then were Pat Smith, President; Dawn Plaskon, Vice President and board member Brenda Glover. One board position remains open. The group discussed a move to a social model for the SR1 Association with an eye to planning events designed to restore the sense of community. A spaghetti feed, ice cream social, and block parties were among the ideas. The Association would still function as a resident advocate in keeping with the bylaws should that become necessary. State of the Park Dawn outlined the plans for the park as listed in the April El Toro which includes repaving the streets, redoing the carwash, upgrading the lighting and in general doing maintenance and repairs. More solar options are to be explored and a solar audit is scheduled. Upcoming events A CERT class sponsored by the Hayward Fire Department begins Monday, April 9 and runs through May 7. Several residents are enrolled in the Community Academy meeting on Tuesdays. Saturday, April 18 is the bimonthly Creek Cleanup which coincides with a citywide Earth Day cleanup effort. The annual Pool Party is being planned with a date to be announced. The pool opens May 1. Donations are to be solicited from the parks realtors to put on this free event, and perhaps to offer raffle prizes. Emergency Prep update A planning meeting will be held this month to get ready for a parkwide event on May 15 to promote Emergency Preparedness. A park evacuation plan was distributed by park management the day of the meeting. Neighborhood Watch Clint Dean spoke for the team noting that meetings are every other month on the second Tuesday and that the group hopes to start neighborhood walks soon. He invited interested people to meet at the clubhouse at 6 pm to walk their dogs or just enjoy exercise. Charity Drives A drive for the Hayward Animal Shelter is just wrapping up but donations were light. Bingo has agreed to make a monetary donation to take up the slack. Community Reports: HMOA The next meeting is March 17 at Continental Mobile Home Park. El ToroHadnt arrived by time of meeting, apparently again due to mechanical problems. The El Toro is posted on the website. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Jeanie Schultz, Secretary
