NASPE Standard(s): 1 A physically educated person demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety activities. Objectives: Students will work as partners and individually to perform continuous levels of activity and skills through different apprentices. Students will learn the basics for basketball. Students will demonstrate accuracy in performing all activities in the obstacle course at 80% mastery
Materials/Equipment needed: Each student will need a partner (decided by the teacher) as well as one basketball between the two students.

With a partner, practice the chest pass. A chest pass is done with two hands holding onto the ball. The ball is held at chest level and thrown straight toward the target from the chest.
Station 2: Bounce Pass With a partner, practice the bounce pass. A bounce pass starts at chest level but then drops as the passers
6 minutes/station 26 minutes total (allowing time for movement to the next station)
arms move forward. The pass should bounce about midway between the passer and the player who is receiving the pass.
With a partner, practice the overhead pass. An overhead pass is thrown with two hands and the pass is thrown from directly above the head. Station 4: With a partner, practice dribbling.
Closing Activity: Have the students put the balls back in the bin and walk along around the gym twice to cool down. Meet in the middle to review everything the students have learned. 3 minutes
Assessment: Teacher observation; are students following directions, working as a team, and being aware of personal space?
