COMMITTEE PREFERENCE: (please rank the positions by preference with 1 being your first choice and 6 being your last) ___ CAMPUS ADVANCEMENT COMMITTEE ___ STUDENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE ___ STUDENT FEES ALLOCATION COMMITTEE ___ STUDENT SERVICES COMMITTEE ___ COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE ___ PRESIDENTS COUNCIL

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS:
CAMPUS ADVANCEMENT COMMITTEE (CAC) DESCRIPTION: The Campus Advancement Committee shall consider all matters referred to it by the Student Senate and shall review and monitor the activities, policies, and programs. The committee shall address both present and future concerns of the university and the students. The committee shall seek information from officers of the university, consider the effect of such activities on the student body, and make recommendations for action to the Student Senate. MEMBERS: ten (10) spots available COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE (COC) DESCRIPTION: The Community Outreach Committee seeks to explore opportunities to get Drake Universitys Student Body more engaged with the Des Moines community. The Committee shall also seek to develop a stronger relationship with community leaders in an effort to increase the Drake University Student Bodys visibility. Community service opportunities will also be a large focus of this committee. MEMBERS: ten (10) spots available STUDENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (SAC) DESCRIPTION: The Student Affairs Committee shall consider all matters referred to it by the Student Senate and shall review and monitor the activities, policies, and programs of the division for Student Affairs, as well as those relating to University student organizations. The committee shall serve as an informational resource for these organizations, shall promote organizational advancement and development, and shall facilitate cooperation and communication among Student organizations. MEMBERS: twelve (12) spots available STUDENT FEES AND ALLOCATIONS COMMITTEE (SFAC) DESCRIPTION: All groups seeking funding must be student organizations recognized for funding by the Student Senate. The Student Fees Allocation Committee shall conduct hearings for the purpose of examining budget proposals made by recognized student organizations seeking funding. The committee shall then send their fee allocation recommendations to the Student Senate. MEMBERS: nine (9) spots available STUDENT SERVICES COMMITTEE (SSC) DESCRIPTION: The Student Services Committee shall oversee the implementation and maintenance of all programs and initiatives referred to the Student Services Committee by the Campus Advancement Committee or the Student Senate. Examples of items that might be included are the continued pursuit of reform for Drake Direct, improving dining services, and any ideas that would improve the university as a whole. MEMBERS: ten (10) spots available PRESIDENTS COUNCIL DESCRIPTION: The Presidents Council serves as an informational group who keeps close interaction with the Student Body President. Each member will find a focus for the year and work closely with the Student Body President to implement change to Drakes campus. For example past projects have been: Environment and Sustainability at Drake, Study Abroad Opportunities, Safety on Drakes Campus, Gender Equality in Greek Life, and Gender Neutral Housing.
