Thank you for worshiping with us today! In between our services, you are invited for coffee and fellowship on the deckwed love to get to know you better! THOSE LEADING IN WORSHIP TODAY Rev. Jeanne Devine will bring the sermon. Our worship leader for the 8:30 service is Larry Parks and for the 10:50 service is Peggy Appleby. Media Manager today is Kathy Beth Stavinoha (8:30). Carol Denton leads our Childrens Time. We thank all our greeters, ushers, and acolytes. CHURCH NURSERY Child care is available for children up to age 5 in the church nursery on Sunday mornings. Children are always welcome in the sanctuary.

WE PRAY FOR OTHERS The pastor will share prayer requests and the congregation will respond: Lord, hear our prayer. After the prayers have been lifted, we will pray together the Lords Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. OFFERING OUR GIFTS AND PRAYERS Offering envelopes may be found inside front cover of UM Hymnal. A SONG OF PRAISE TO GOD UMH #94

Ushers will collect yellow cards; please pass yours down to the end of the row. PRAYER OF CONFESSION Good Shepherd, we take your care for granted. In the midst of your many blessings, we complain of not having enough. In the presence of danger, we fail to trust your abiding love. When you set a table before us, we turn aside from you. Call us back into your care and help us trust your caring presence, that our actions may proclaim your truth. Amen. WORDS OF ASSURANCE Leader: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives. God forgives our failures and calls us back into the flock.

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

4th Sunday of Easter

National Day of PrayerSpiritual Care Committee invites the Berkeley congregation to join with other Christians across the nation in observing National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 3rd. Designated by a Joint Resolution of Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1952, National Day of Prayer is the day set aside for Americans to turn to God in meditation and prayer, praying especially for our nation and its leaders.

What is Methodism? Rev. Jeanne Devine offers an introduction to United Methodist Christianity our beliefs, our history and our witness in the world. They meet in the library (Room 9) in the Christian Living Center at 9:40 a.m. If you have attended for some time and are interested in church membership, or if you are generally curious you are welcome. For more information, email her at revjeanned@sbcglobal.net .

LIFE Group The re-organized Young Adult LIFE Group at Berkeley UMC meets in Room 7 of the Christian Life Center promptly at 9:45-10:35. This life group specifically targets those individuals and couples who are post high school through mid-30s; this is for folks who either have or do not have children. Children's Sunday school classes as well as nursery care are available for children during this time. We will launch this class on Sunday mornings by viewing segments of Adam Hamilton's thought-provoking Why Christians Get It Wrong and then discussing how it strikes us. So grab your 'cup of joe' and perhaps a donut and join us in Rm. 7 on Sundays at 9:45. Hope to see lots of you for these stimulating interactions.
