Can a Teacher be a Hero? Anyone who displays great courage or exceptionally noble qualities is a hero.

When I was a young child I had a great admiration on superman that I never missed to watch him on the television. But now that Im old enough to distinguish fantasy from reality , I have switched my admiration to a teacher whom I consider now as my hero that made me overcome my fear. A teacher who believes in my ability and capability. She is a teacher who encourages me to bring out the best in me. She always reminds me to have a self-confidence. Her gentle ways had released the courage on me to bring out the knowledge from my mind. She is approachable and I dont hesitate to approach her because I know that she is an advocate of love and understanding. She shares her abundant knowledge and gives us some pieces of advice to become better citizens. As Jose Rizal said, we are the hope of the motherland. A teacher is firm in her belief that through her undying effort to shape us intellectually, morally and spiritually we would be the kind of persons in our society wishes us to be. She instills in our mind that proper education makes a man easy to lead, easy to drive, easy to govern but impossible to enslave. A teacher is a hero. Not by using a sword to depend our country against invaders but by using a piece of chalk to make us knowledgeable and skillful so that we will be courageous to face the trials in life. Teachers are not to be ignored but to be recognized. Seeing us as successful individuals in the future is her contentment. Let us not forsake her. Let us strive so that in the future she will be happy and proud to say that we had made a job well done.

Presidential Adviser Ronald Llamas Spotted Buying Pirated DVDs

The economic growth in our country is low. Government officials blame the lingering crisis in the U.S. which pulled down Philippines exports. They blame the string of natural disasters like the flood brought by storms. But the accusing fingers of many Filipinos print at the government officials. Recently, the Aquino Administration has been dragged into controversy because Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Ronald Llamas was spotted buying almost P 2,000 worth of pirated DVDs. Malacanang admitted that Llamas stupidity has been causing

distraction to the Aquino governance. This top government official who was caught buying pirated DVDs had brought embarrassment for the administration which calls for Filipinos to walk towards matuwid na daan. The government is running after those who are engaged in pirated DVD business but here is a top government official caught in purchasing pirated DVDs. I wonder why this top government official patronizes pirated DVDs instead of the products that pay taxes to the government. Was he that stupid that he didnt know its effect to our country? He is not an ordinary citizen. He doesnt deserve to be in post. He is to be fired for having done something that he shouldnt have. The palace spokesperson, Edwin Lacierda, said that whatever sanctions to be imposed on him will be based on the investigation and the meeting between the president and his advisers. Llamas act was an embarrassment to the administration. As a government official he should serve as a role model in combating piracy in the country. It is important on public officials to behave in support of whatever drive the government has launched and one of them being the drive against intellectual piracy. With the blooming population of our country we must be united in achieving economic growth of our country. Dont buy pirated DVDs and smuggled products. Despite what Llamas did we should refrain from buying pirated DVDs and Cds. Let us not be affected by the issue on Llamas. Let us not doubt that the present administration is committed to upholding the law and international commitments to protect intellectual property rights.
