Inserting WordArt
PowerPoint 2007 offers new ways of working with WordArt. You can now change the look of WordArt text by applying different styles and decorative effects, such as shadowed or mirrored (reflected) text.

You can quickly apply the text fill and effects at once with the Quick Styles. Quick Styles are combinations of different formatting options and are displayed in a thumbnail in the various Quick Style galleries. When you point to a Quick Style thumbnail, you can see how the Quick Style affects your Wordart (Live Preview).

You can change the attributes of a Wordart, for example the Text Fill , Text Outline Text Effects and

individually.

How To Insert WordArt Text

Create a new blank slide.


A New Slide is created.

Click the Insert tab. In the Text group, click the WordArt button.
PowerPoint displays a gallery of WordArt styles.

How To Apply A WordArt Style To The WordArt Text

Click the WordArt object that you want to change. Under the Drawing Tools, click the Format tab.

How To Apply A Fill To The WordArt Text

How To Apply An Outline To WordArt Text

Creating Designer-quality SmartArt Graphics
A SmartArt graphic is a visual representation of your information and ideas. You can create SmartArt graphics by choosing from among many different layouts to quickly, easily, and effectively communicate your message. In Office PowerPoint 2007, you can quickly convert slide text to a SmartArt graphic and add a shape from within a SmartArt graphic. In addition, you can also add animation to your SmartArt graphic.

You can add a Shape to a SmartArt Graphic.

You can change the Layout of the SmartArt graphic easily by using the Layouts style gallery. To see all the available layouts click the More button next to the layout thumbnail.

The SmartArt Style is a combination of various effects, such as line style, bevel, or 3-D, which you can apply to the shapes in your SmartArt graphic to create a unique and professionally designed look.

How To Add SmartArt To A Presentation

Create a new slide Title and Content layout. Click the Click to add title placeholder and type Recycles.
A New Slide is created with the title Recycles.

1. Click the Insert tab. In the Illustrations group, click the SmartArt button. 2. In the left pane, click a category you want, and in the right pane, click a graphic style. 3. Click the OK button. 4. Click the [Text] box, and then type your text.

The Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box appears. The fastest way to add SmartArt to your presentation is to apply a slide layout that contains a placeholder for SmartArt and then click the Insert SmartArt Graphic button in the placeholder.

In the left pane, click a category you want, and in the right pane, click a graphic style.
There are seven categories that you can choose from, include List, Process, Cycle, Hierarchy, Relationship, Matrix and Pyramid. When you click a graphic type, a display of the graphic is previewed on the right along with a short description.

The SmartArt graphic with a Text pane to insert text is created in the presentation. The SmartArt Tools tabs, Design and Format appear on the ribbon.

Click the [Text] box, and then type Reduce. Click another [Text] boxes, type Re-use and Recycles.
When you have finished, click outside of the SmartArt graphic.

How To Delete A Shape From A SmartArt Graphic

Click one of the [Text] box, and then press DELETE.


The redundant [Text] box is deleted.

Repeat step 6 to delete another redundant [Text] box.


All redundant [Text] boxes are deleted.

How To Edit Text Using The SmartArt Text Pane

Click the SmartArt graphic you want to edit.


The SmartArt Tools tabs, Design and Format appear on the ribbon.

Under the SmartArt Tools, click the Design tab.


PowerPoint displays all the Design tools for the SmartArt graphic.

TIPS

In general, SmartArt graphics work best with shorter amounts of text. However, some layouts, such as Trapezoid List in the List type, work well with larger amounts of text. Any time you click away from the SmartArt graphic, the Text pane disappears. To close the Text pane, click Close in the upper-right corner of the Text pane.

Edit or format your text.


If you want to create a new line of text, click at the end of a line and press Enter. To indent text, press Tab to indent right or press Shift+Tab to indent left. To delete text, select the text and then press Delete.

How To Add A Shape From Within SmartArt Graphic

Click the shape that is located closest to where you want to add the new shape.
The shape is selected and the SmartArt Tools tab, Design and Format appear on the ribbon.

To insert a shape one level above the selected shape, click Add Shape Above. The Add Assistant shape is only available if you have chosen an organization chart layout. To insert a shape one level below the selected shape, click Add Shape Below.

How To Change Shapes In A SmartArt Graphic

Click the shapes in the SmartArt graphic you want to change.

How To Change A SmartArt Graphic Colors

PowerPoint displays all the Design tools for the SmartArt graphic.

PowerPoint displays a gallery of the current layout with different theme colors. Before you decide which theme colors to choose, you can point to a layout to display a live preview of the style.

How To Convert Slide Text To A SmartArt Graphic

Select the text you want to convert to a SmartArt graphic.


By using Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, you can convert the text in a bulleted list to a SmartArt graphic that illustrates your message visually.

Inserting Picture And Photo Album
You can use PowerPoint 2007 to create a photo album for a large collection of pictures. PowerPoint 2007 makes it easy for you to insert photographs or other illustrations into your photo album. You can customize the photo album by changing the layouts, picture styles or themes.
Click this button to display the Insert New Pictures dialog box, which allows you to locate and select the pictures you want to include in the new photo album. The Pictures in album list includes all the graphics you selected for your photo album. You can select each picture in turn to view it. You can click the Move Up or Move Down button to change the order of the pictures in the album. You can also adjust the rotation, contrast, and brightness of each picture.

How To Create A Photo Album

1.

Click the Insert tab. In the Illustrations group, click the Photo Album button arrow and then click New Photo Album.
The Photo Album dialog box appears, as shown below.

Locate and select the pictures you want to include in the new photo album. 4. Click the Insert button. 5. Locate and select the pictures you want to include in the new photo album.
To select multiple pictures, hold down the Ctrl key and click the images.

How to change the picture order: In the Picture in album list box, click a picture and the click the Up or Down button.

The Insert New Pictures dialog box closes and returns to the Photo Album dialog box.

Under the Album Layout, click the Picture Layout list box, and then select a picture layout.
There are seven types of picture layout available in PowerPoint 2007.

How To Apply A Theme To The Photo Album

1.

Click the Insert tab. In the Illustrations group, click the Photo Album button arrow, and click Edit Photo Album.
The Edit Photo Album appears.

How To Use The Picture Style Gallery

In the Photo Album, click the picture you want to change. Under the Picture Tools, click the Format tab.
PowerPoint displays various picture styles that are available, with the current styles highlighted.
