7. Formulation of Hypotheses

:Probable Solutions:

7.1 If the Reading practice is given with emphasis on phonetics and syllables (stress on specific sound/word within word), interaction in English with pears and the teachers, it will reduce the fear of reading and remove the problem of fluency in reading. 7.2 (Hypothesis will be prepared on the bases of teacher controlled solutions of the problems)

9. Implementation of the programme: According to the table No. 3 .I started the implementation of the programme in The Aditya Birla Public School. I started this programme with a view to rectify the problem of Fluency in reading which is prevalent among the students. I started the programme by allotting time for each remedial measure once a week (changing the activity every week as to maintain the interest of the students) .I started it with model reading (reading myself the usual study material) with expression and interest, pausing occasionally to answer a question or to comment on the way I am reading and giving instruction to the students to observe it carefully. Then I fixed schedule for once a week for the students to take out books from the class library or ask students to bring in their own favorite books and to share them with the class by choosing, practicing, and then reading aloud brief excerpts from their favorite scenes. I also alternatively introduced them to basic phonics words and how to break long words into syllables and pronunciation of such words.

While teaching I also asked questions whether they read or watch certain newspaper or TV programmes for information or entertainment and also time to time discuss about movies and reviews so they get interested in watching learn the correct pronunciation and Speaking with expression and stress at right places and words which would help them to read aloud better eventually. 10. Evaluation of the research: (Finding)
Some of the measurements proved to be immensely successful like class library as children contributed books and regularly did reading session as directed under my supervision on the days designated for the same. Even brushing up their knowledge about phonics and syllables were accepted with favour as it not only revised their pre-knowledge, also brought a freshness in their otherwise standard routine they showed alertness to read aloud in the classroom setting .Gradually the students who were shy also started taking interest and showed readiness to read in the classroom.

I was able to remove some of the causes like fear of subject, fear of teacher, being ridiculed by friends/peer group, fear of speaking or spelling wrongly, language problem etc. Some of the reasons were beyond my control to rectify like watching English programmes or reading English newspaper daily, interaction in English at home or in social surroundings. For Guidance at home I will have to speak to the parents in next PTA meet to encourage their child to read and watch English paper/programmes.Converastion part would still be a handicap as many of the parents are themselves unable to interact or converse in English. I will have to further find out if they have like minded peer group in the surrounding neighborhood so they can play spell well and other games related to spelling and vocabulary building.
