Title of Unit: Consumers & Producers Title of Lesson: The Market Place

Lesson Plan #5 out of 5

1. Summary of the Lesson Plan: This lesson is designed to test the students knowledge on producers and consumers. 2. Target Population: grade level:1st grade skill level: students at all grade levels grouping: whole group activity, partner match, individual assignment.

3. Objectives: E9.1.2 Identify a consumer. E9.1.3 Identify a producer. 4. Procedure: 1. The teacher will give the students 5 minutes to review their notes. 5 min 2. The teacher will explain the activity. 5 min 3. Each student will be given a card that lists a certain producer and consumer and important details. They then must match up with a fellow student who they think the consumer will buy from using the details of the notes for the consumer and producer. There are various answers to each. Some may partner with the same. It doesnt matter. What matters is that the student will write what the producer and consumer were paired. They then must write why they paired together. Giving details. 30 min 4. Students then must write on their sheet of paper what a consumer is and what a producer is. The papers will be collected. 10 min 5. Assessment: A formal assessment is that the students will each be identified as a consumer and producer and must write what a consumer and producer are. Also they will be given a certain producer and consumer and must match with a student that they think will go together. There are various answers but in a sheet of paper they must write why they chose to match up. 6. Reflection:

What skills do students need in order to be successful with this lesson? - Students will need to be able to figure out what type of consumers do producers attract and why. Also identify both consumer and producer. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? - This is the end of the unit. I could follow up this lesson with the U.S. Economy What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? - I will just have the students identify a consumer and producer.

Where do you anticipate having problems with this lesson? I can anticipate that the students might be pairing of with the same or telling others to pair with someone else. I just want the students to match with someone they believe work well together and students can have two matches but must pick one.
