Entrpreneurer Introduction We selected the entrepreneurer for the assigned interview, the owner of SAMs (Sheikh Abdul Majeed

& Sons) Fried chicken and Burgers who introduced the fast food concept with local taste the very first time in the market of Faisalabad. They started their business from very small level in 1986 but now they have two outlets in Faisalabad and they are going to expand their business in other cities of Pakistan. Interview Following are the information that we get from Mr. Idrees owner at SAMs Foods. Q: what is the entrepreneurers educational background? A. He completed his inter in early 80s and he couldnt carry on his education due to family business crises. Q. what is the entrepreneurers previous work experience before starting the business? A. he was engaged in his family business (textile). Q. when the entrepreneurer know he wanted to be an entrepreneurer? A. in mid 80s when they had faces to much losses in their family business of textiles he feels the need to start a new business. Q.did the entrepreneurer have parents that were entrepreneurial? A. No. he havent. His father was involved in routine base textile business like the other many sheikh families. Q. what was the entrepreneurers primary motivation for starting a business? What were the factors that led him to start the business? A. he started this business to enjoy the cash sales and avoid the credit base business, because they had very bad experience of credit business in past. Q. what sort of belief did the entrepreneurer have about his employees, partners etc? A. when they started their business they had no employee. They do all the practices from manufacturing of burgers to serve by themselves. As their business get mass their need to hire the employees occupied. And now they have more than 80 employees at their branches and manufacturing unit working like a family.

Q. did the entrepreneurer seek to establish a life style business, a rapid growth business or what? A. when they started the business their basic concern was to survive in the market but now with the passage of time as the market for fast food is developed and their demand is increasing they are concerned with the rapid growth by getting more customer loyalty. Q. how concerned was the entrepreneurer with control when started the business? A. they started the business from very small level with limited investment. So the risk level was very low. So they were not so much concerned about controlling the business operations. Q. did he made a business plan when he started his venture? A. No. they started the business informally. Q. how has his goals and values changed since started the business? A. at starting his concern was only cash base business with healthy profit but now they are more concerned with customer satisfying services to create customer loyalty because they have many competitors in the market like Heyman, Frichiks, Kfc and many more. Q. did he find need for control change as business grew? A.when in 2004 he extended his business he felt need for more partners so he involed his younger brother to make solid control over business. Q. what key personal characteristics does he see in himself that was especially critical for achieving success with this particular venture? A. his passion and determination were the critical characteristics behind his success. Q. what are his plans for the future in terms of his business? A. Recently they opened a branch in Jinnah colony area. And in future they are going to open several branches in different areas of Faisalabad and many other cities.

Q. What products or services are provided? What are the major features? A. They are dealing in variety of fried chicken and burgers and giving the service of free home delivery. The major feature of their products is local taste with foreign recipes. Q. where it is located? A. it is located in main dee ground and also in Jinnah colony area. Q. who does the owner considers to be the target market? Why? Demographics: Their majors targets are teenagers and adults because they found potential of fast foods in the youngsters. Their popular product is student burger. Psychographic or life style: They serve only Halal foods. Social Status: Middle and Upper middle class. Q. How frequently is the product purchased? A. Their meals are Routine Based lunch and dinner. Q. What does the owner consider the major benefits to the target market of the product? Why? A. he told us the fast food market is at peak. The new generation is like to eat fast food than the traditional food. As they have established their name in fast food market since 1986 so they are enjoying it. Q.how are these benefits unique? What company does the owner consider the major competitor? A. the most unique benefit they enjoy is their experience in the market and local taste of their products. And their major competitors are Heyman, Frichicks and almaida e.t.c Q. do your observations confirm the owners description? A. Yes
