A FLIGHT INTO THE UNKNOWN SCENE: 1 INT. AIRPORT - MORNING SOUND: WALA WALA CAPTAIN ALFRED Beautiful day isnt it Jack? Either way weve got to get ready for our flight, it aint gonna be short. OFFICER JACK Yeah, but still, were flying on a new aircraft. Im pretty sure were not gonna get bored. CAPTAIN ALFRED Do you have the manual? OFFICER JACK No, I thought you had it? I thought I told you to get it from the pilots lounge, no? CAPTAIN ALFRED Oh... Well its too late now, lets get going. OFFICER JACK OK, but if we nearly die, its not my fault. Ha Ha Ha NARRATOR Captain Alfred and Officer Jack walk towards their aircraft. The airline has just bought a new fleet of airplanes, Alfred and Jack have been chosen to fly one. They will be departing from Zurich Airport and are scheduled to land in Moscow at Noon. CAPTAIN ALFRED Here we are, look at that, straight from the production line. We sure are lucky to fly it. OFFICER JACK Look theres one that is taking off right now! SOUND: AIRPLANE TAKING OFF CAPTAIN ALFRED That sure is a lot of power. Oh look theres our crew! OFFICER JACK Who is that? CAPTAIN ALFRED That is the chief Stuart, her name is Lillian.

OFFICER JACK Hi Lillian, Im jack, Im the co-pilot for the flight LILLIAN Nice to meet ya. We better hurry up, were scheduled to take off on less then 40 minutes! SCENE: 2 INT. AIRCRAFT - MORNING NARRATOR The two pilots are on the aircraft now,they are sitting in the cockpit getting ready for the flight. CAPTAIN ALFRED You ready to fly this bird? OFFICER JACK Sure am. CAPTAIN ALFRED Lets start off with the Checklist. - APU OFFICER JACK Check SOUND: TURBINE TURNING ON SOUND CAPTAIN ALFRED Battery OFFICER JACK Check SOUND: AVIONICS FAN TURN ON CAPTAIN ALFRED Avionics OFFICER JACK Check SOUND: SEVERAL ALARMS GOING ON AND THEN OFF CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright were ready for take off. SOUND: COCKPIT DOOR OPENING LILLIAN Want some coffee boys?

CAPTAIN ALFRED Im good, thanks. OFFICER JACK Maybe later, thank you. LILLIAN Alright, just call me if you change your mind. SOUND: COCKPIT DOOR CLOSING CAPTAIN ALFRED Contact the Control Tower, ask for clearance to take off. OFFICER JACK Sure thing. SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE OFFICER JACK Zurich Tower, Flight 2-3-0 asking for IFR clearance to Moscow. CONTROL TOWER Flight 2-3-0 cleared to Moscow via runway 4 Left. OFFICER JACK Flight 2-3-0 cleared to Moscow via runway 4 Left. Thanks, have a nice day. SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright then, lets start the engines. (Checklist) Flight Director. OFFICER JACK Check SOUND: ALARM GOING ON AND OFF CAPTAIN ALFRED OK, Flight Level 280 OFFICER JACK Flight Level 280, Check SOUND: SWITCH CLICKING

CAPTAIN ALFRED APU Off OFFICER JACK APU Off, Check SOUND: TURBINE FAN TURNING OFF CAPTAIN ALFRED Fuel Check OFFICER JACK Fuel, 4.8 Tons, Check CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright, start the Engines! OFFICER JACK Engine 1 Start SOUND: ENGINE STARTING SOUND OFFICER JACK Successful Engine Start. Engine 2 Start. SOUND: ENGINE STARTING SOUND OFFICER JACK Both Engines started Successfully Captain CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright off to the runway for us! OFFICER JACK Lets give the engines some power SOUND: ENGINE RATTLE SOUND CAPTAIN ALFRED Theres the Runway. Warn the cabin crew and the passengers. Turn the seat belt sign on too. SOUND: SEAT BELT SOUND ON OFFICER JACK Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your First Officer Speaking. We are next in line for take off, my prediction for the flight duration is approximately 2 and a half hours. Cabin Crew, please prepare for take off.

CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright, increase the throttle to the max. OFFICER JACK Throttle is to the max, prepare for take off. SOUND: ENGINE SOUNDS ACCELERATING CAPTAIN ALFRED Here we go! SOUND: ENGINE SOUNDS, ALARMS, FLAPS, GEAR SCENE: 3 INT. AIRCRAFT - 10:00 AM NARRATOR The two pilots have been in the air for half an hour. It is now 10 AM. Officer Jack has to do a call to the control tower for a check in. OFFICER JACK Zurich Control Tower, This is Flight 2-3-0 checking in for weather and traffic update.] SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE CAPTAIN ALFRED Hmm... thats odd. Try again OFFICER JACK Zurich Control Tower, This is Flight 2-3-0 checking in for weather and traffic update. SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE CONTROL TOWER Zurich Flight 2-3-0 weather update dangerously low visibility and very high risk of... SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE OFFICER JACK Zurich Control Tower, Please Repeat that. SOUND: SILENCE CAPTAIN ALFRED Okay, maybe I should have gone back and gotten the manual. OFFICER JACK Well now what?

CAPTAIN ALFRED I guess we just wait. OFFICER JACK Hey, look at that. The compass says we are pointing south-east. I know my geography and we are supposed to be going North-East. CAPTAIN ALFRED Must be broken, errr, yeah. OFFICER JACK But this is a new aircraft. It cant be. CAPTAIN ALFRED Try contacting the control tower again, if they dont answer, try a different frequency. OFFICER JACK Zurich Control Tower, This is Flight 2-3-0 checking in for weather and traffic update. SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE OFFICER JACK Zurich Control Tower, This is Flight 2-3-0 checking in for weather and traffic update. SOUND: RADIO TRANSMISSION CRACKLE NOISE CAPTAIN ALFRED Try the Moscow Control Tower Frequency. OFFICER JACK Okay, Frequency 111.65. Moscow Control Tower, This is Flight 2-3-0 checking in for weather and traffic update. SOUND: SILENCE FOLLOWED BY RADIO CRACKLE CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright, this is odd. We should try waiting. OFFICER JACK (SIGH) ... What the heck? CAPTAIN ALFRED What? OFFICER JACK Look at the altimeter! It says were only 500 feet in the air?!

CAPTAIN ALFRED Hmmm... suppose it does. Wait! Look! Our speed, it decreasing dramatically! OFFICER JACK What do we do!? If these controls are right, who knows where the heck we are! I mean, the compass its pointing south, were 500 feet in the air and we cant contact the control tower. Oh, and our speed, were are going to stall soon enough. CAPTAIN ALFRED Hmm, try the radio again. SCENE 4 INT. AIRCRAFT - 11:00 AM SOUND: ALARMS GOING ON OFFICER JACK Look theres the ground! CAPTAIN ALFRED Pull Up! SOUND: RATTLING SOUNDS OFFICER JACK AGH! CAPTAIN ALFRED What the heck! Is that a forest?! OFFICER JACK PULL UP! SOUND: STALL ALARM CAPTAIN ALFRED WE"RE STALLING OFFICER JACK FULL THROTTLE! _________________________________________________________________ COMMERCIAL - AIRPLANE TICKETS SALES MAN 1 Are you tired of incredibly high and stupid airplane prices?

OFFICER JACK Yes, we have instrument failure, we need vectors to landing. How far is the airfield. Flight 2-0-3.

CAPTAIN ALFRED Warn the Passengers. OFFICER JACK Passengers, this is your first officer speaking. We have been experiencing instrument failures. We will make an emergency landing in Georgia, Tbilisi. SOUND: PASSENGERS SHOUTING AND TALKING LOUDLY CAPTAIN ALFRED They dont sound too happy bout that. OFFICER JACK Yeah, okay we should probably get ready for the landing. SCENE 5 INT. AIRCRAFT 12:00 AM OFFICER JACK Look,theres the runway. CAPTAIN ALFRED Alright, Flaps fully down and reduce speed. OFFICER JACK Flaps SOUND: FLAPS GOING DOWN OFFICER JACK Check, and speed reduced SOUND: ENGINE NOISE GOING DOWN CAPTAIN ALFRED Gear down. OFFICER JACK Gear Down SOUND: GEAR GOING DOWN

OFFICER JACK Check. SOUND: ALARM WARNING SAYING 500 FEET CAPTAIN ALFRED (SIGH) Well Im glad thats over. SOUND: ALARM OFFICER JACK Yeah, okay we are 20 meters from laaandinng. SOUND: GEAR HITTING GROUND, ENGINE NOISE COMPLETELY REDUCED, PASSENGERS CLAPPING CAPTAIN ALFRED It was a pleasure flying with you Jack SOUND: WHEELS ROLLING OFFICER JACK You too Capan CAPTAIN ALFRED lets go get the passengers off the plane. OFFICER JACK Ill shut things down here. SOUND: ENGINES SHUTTING DOWN SCENE 6 EXT. AIRPORT - 12:30 AM NARRATOR Captain Alfred and officer Jack successfully unloaded all the passengers and their luggage. The passengers were very grateful of what they had accomplished. The two pilots are in the airport now, arranging their plans on how to get home. The company has assigned for Captain Alfred to tag along on a flight from Tbilisi to Zurich. Officer Jack, on the other hand, will stay in Georgia for a few weeks in a resort. SOUND: WALA WALA CAPTAIN ALFRED I wonder what happened there, with those instruments and what not. OFFICER JACK If only we had the manual...
