TheLeesburgPoliceDepartmentisinvestigatingamultiplevehiclecrashthathasclaimed onelife.ThecrashshutdownRoute7andtheRoute15BypassbetweenKingStreetandthe DullesGreenwayinLeesburgMay2formorethanfivehours. Accordingtoarelease,shortlyafter1p.m.,PhilipGreenJr.,27,ofWinchester,wasdrivinga black2006ChevroletMalibusedanwestboundonthebypass.Greensvehiclecrossedthe grassymedian,thereportsaid,andtraveledintotheeastboundlanesofthebypass. Greenscarhita2004ChevroletSilveradopickuptruckdrivenbya48yearoldmalefrom Shepherdstown,W.Va.Accordingtopolice,theMalibuflippedoverafterstrikingthetruck andGreendidnotsurvivethecrash. ThedriverofthetruckwasairliftedtoInovaFairfaxHospitalforsevereinjuriesandis currentlylistedincriticalcondition. TheLeesburgPoliceDepartmentCrashReconstructionTeam,alongwithmembersfromthe LoudounCountySheriffsOfficeCrashReconstructionUnit,gatheredevidenceandcompleted thepreliminaryinvestigation.TheLeesburgBypasswascompletelyreopenedat6:27p.m. TheLeesburgPoliceDepartmentisaskinganywitnessestothecrashtocontactDetectiveJ.
