Dr Emad's skills in percutaneous ultrasonography have assisted in diagnosing many difficult cases referred from various specialties. Dr. Emad Fayyad graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj Napoca. Romania. on September 23. 1993. He subsequently received postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and was awarded a certificate of a Specialist Gastroenterologist by the Ministry of Health of Romania on April 10. 2001. He joined Rashid Hospital Medical Department on October 5 2001. and later on he was transferred to D~gestive Diseases Unit at Rashid Hospital as a specialist registrar in Gastroenterology Ye was subsequently promoted to a post of specialist senior reg~strarIn .Gastroenteroiogy ir. He played an instrumental role in developing the endosoopic ultrasound services in the unit after having a 3 months' training in France and obtaining competence o a r t i e in endoscopic ultrasonography. Dr. Fayyad is an excellent endoscopist. His expertise includes but not limited to panueaticobiliary endoscopy, both diagnostic and interventional. Dr. Fayyad also contributes actively in the CME activities of the unit as well as teaching undergraduates of Dubai Medical College for Girls. Dr. Fayyad is a d e d i i e d physician with an amicable nice personality. Although Dr. Fayyad is currently employed at the level of a spacialist senior registrar, ha has knowledge, experience, and capabilities of discharging his duties at the level of a consultant.

During t h i s p e r i o d he c a r r i e d o u t about 2,500 abdominal examinations i n chronic p a t i e n t s and i n p a t i e n t s with a c u t e d i s e a s e s , c o n t r i b u t i n g t o t h e d e t e c t i o n and ascertainment of t h e diagnosis of numerous d i s e a s e s , a l s o slaking t h e r a p e u t i c i n d i c a t i o n s . The s p e c i f i c of h i s a c t i v i t y c o n s i s t e d i n conventional ultrasonographic examinations combined with v a s c u l a r ultrasonography w i t h and without c o n t r a s t agents, e n d o c a v i t a r y r e c t a l ultrasowgraphyandinterventionalultrasonography (ultrasonography guided punctures f o r d i a g ~ s t i c and t h e r a p e u t i c purposes). Thus, h e c a r r y i e d o u t a number of 132 simple l i v e r biopsy punctures, 45 l i v e r b i o p s i e s guided u l t r a -
