The Jamaca Forum for Lesbans, A-Sexuas & 0ays (J-FLA0) reporLed n June LhaL 5T
homophobc ncdenLs had been regsLered n Jamacan beLween January and June 20TT,
represenLng a rse compared Lo Lhe same perod over 20T0. These ncdenLs ncude mob
aLLacks, physca abuse, home evcLons and dscrmnaLon. Some of Lhe ncdenLs were
perpeLraLed by poce offcers.

he faced charges reaLed Lo drug-Lraffckng and frearms. (He was evenLuay exLradLed Lo Lhe
US where, on T SepLember 20TT, he ped guLy Lo charges of rackeLeerng and conspracy Lo
commL assauL wLh a dangerous weapon.)In aLe June, Lhe sLaLe of emergency was exLended
