TITLE: REPORTS TO: QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate Assistant Chelsea Pereira, HSC Facility & Fitness Coordinator Must be a currently enrolled student at USC; College Work Study Program (CWSP); Fitness/Recreation Facility background and experience in the areas of recreational sports, programming, event planning, marketing and promotions preferred. Bachelors degree; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Candidate must gain acceptance in a USC Graduate Program and maintain enrollment throughout the duration of employment; Graduate Assistantship requires 20 hours per week at minimum. The Graduate Assistant of Recreational Sports will assist the HSC Facility & Fitness Coordinator with the organization and administration of the following areas: Membership Services, Fitness, and Intramural Sports. Graduate Assistant Roles & Responsibilities I. Membership Services: Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of the Membership Services student staff. Directly supervise approximately 20 Membership Services student employees. Assist with the shift scheduling of Membership Services student employees. Maintain and coordinate student employee files. Work cooperatively with the Graduate Assistant and Student Assistant staff to plan and implement large scale programs and/or student training sessions as needed. Assist in holding monthly meetings with student employees. Assist in the development and implementation of incentive programs for student staff. Assist in the preparation of the HSC Fitness Center Membership quarterly and annual reports. Fitness: Assist in development of promotional materials for recruiting and promotion of Fitness programs. Assist with the recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of the Fitness staff including personal trainers, massage therapists, group exercise, private Pilates, and yoga instructors. Directly supervise approximately 10 Fitness staff employees. Assist in the regular evaluation of all Fitness programs to determine effectiveness of programming. Assist with the scheduling of group exercise instructors classes. Assist in management and maintenance of all fitness related equipment including procurement, replacement, repairs, and preventative maintenance as recommended by manufacturer and/or industry standard. Maintain and coordinate employee files. Represent the Fitness program at campus events. Assist in the preparation of the Fitness quarterly and annual reports. Work cooperatively with the Graduate Assistant and Student Assistant staff to plan and implement large scale programs and/or student training sessions as needed. Intramural Sports: Assist in development of promotional materials for recruiting and promotion of the Intramural Sports program. Organize all league, tournament, and playoff schedules, and manage communication with staff and participants. Supervise all Intramural Sports games, check-in participants, and enforce safety procedures and regulations.
