My interest in studying for an MBA at Cardiff Business School has arisen from numerous aspects of my personal, academic and

professional experience. Even when I was very young, while other children were playing mindless computer games, I kept myself busy with games that simulated operational, logistical and strategic aspects of various globalized industries. The artificial intelligence and realism of such simulations allowed me to grasp the variables and modalities of a managers role in my early years. I would develop creative ideas for solving hypothetical business problems in a business and soon developed a strong focus to join my family business so I could bring my innovations to it. With this goal in mind I set out to pursue a Undergraduate Degree from Staffordshire University. I was quick to grasp management theories which I had studied and was eager to apply them in a practical setting. As my knowledge of the company grew, I posited suggestions on how to improve several aspects of the core functions. My reliability with delivering on daily activities coupled with my innovative suggestions which struck a chord with the senior management, I was soon promoted to a position of a manager. However, it was not solely my technical expertise which landed me a promotion to a managerial post. On my annual review I received positive feedback on my ability to integrate quickly into the informal network of the organisation and build rapport with a diverse range of individuals hailing from significantly different backgrounds. Eventually, after taking part in and leading several projects, I started leading a few large scale projects. The most important of which was the selling and commissioning of the first fully automatic syringe filling assembling line in Pakistan. My strong negotiation skills came into play during this deal as I was required to persuade the customer to purchase our product instead of a competitors and eventually won them over building a strong relationship with the client company. Noticing the tact and diplomacy I employed during this deal, I was trusted with representing the company at several international events in Europe including Exhibitions, Trade Fairs, and Sales Seminars. I believe it is my passion for football which has taught me to show perseverance in times of adversity. I have learnt to hold my head high even in the event of a loss and to continue with consistency and hard work. It is these qualities which got me selected as Captain for my football team throughout my senior years at O and A level education. I am currently part of a football club (KJFC) for which I compete against other semi-professional clubs in Pakistan. Something about music theory or any other interest which has developed my skills for analyzing, memory, quick learning etc?? My enthusiasm for academic study in the field of management has led me to apply for an MBA in Cardiff University. Although I keep myself up to date with scholarly journals and internet websites related to management theory and practice, I desire the discipline and recognition which a renowned University such as Cardiff has to offer. I believe that an MBA from Cardiff will allow me to develop an understanding of

formal policies and procedures that are lacking in an organisation such mine. My ultimate aim is to see my company prosper in the absence of all the shortfalls it currently faces due to its structure and modus operandi, and I am confident that an MBA from Cardiff will allow me to set these standards.
