ELECTRONIC TOYS
Introduction: Electronic toys are an-extension of mechanical moving and stationary toys by introducing the use of electronics engineering principles. Electronic toys serve as a means of entertainment for teenagers as well as grown up persons of all age groups. Electronic toys find their wider applicability in electronic games viz. motor car with remote control, motor car with internal control, Weeping/ Laughing Doll (Sleeping Doll), Electronic Fountain, Traffic Sense; Spinning Wheel, Stop Music, Electronic Ding Dong, Musical Car, Singing Doll, Electronic Harmonium etc. Uses & Applications: Electronic toys are used not only for entertainment of children but for persons of all age groups. Besides, the electronic toys serve the purpose for the education of children while playing e.g. traffic control etc. Market Survey: There has been a substantial growth in Electronics Industry in India. The production of electronic items in our country is being carried out through two main sectors viz. public sector and private sector. The annual data received by the Data Bank and Information Division (DBID) of the Department of Electronics shows that the public sector units account for roughly 32 percent of the total production and remaining 68 percent is contributed by the organised and small scale units in the Private Sector. Electronic toys being attractive items are having very good demand and due to their novelties, their future prospects is also very bright. Plant & Machinery Required 1. Automatic Lathe 2. Power Press (Cap. 10 ton) 3. Hand Press 4. Injection Moulding Machine (Automatic) 5. Injection Moulding Machine (Manual) 6. Draw Bench 7. Lathe (Ordinary) 8. Milling Machine 9. Oscilloscope 10. Hand Tools 11. Soldering & Resoldering Tools 12. Testing equipments viz. Multimeter, Component Tester, IC Tester etc. Process of Manufacture: The manufacture of Electronic toys involved the following steps: 1. Brass gear drawing by a draw bench. 2. Steel gear cutting (automatic) 3. (a) Brass gears are processed on automatic lathe for proper shape (b) Fixing process of gears and allied parts (By hand press or automatic press) 4. Making of body and other plastic parts of the toy. Small parts can be fabricated on the hand operated injection moulding machine. 5. Testing of electronic components. 6. Fixing of electronic components on PCB (Printed Circuit Board) 7. Testing of Electronic Circuit 8. Fitting of mechanical parts in toy 9. Fitting of electronic gadgets in toy 10.
