ORGAN PRELUDE: Savior, Source of Every Blessing CHORAL INTROIT

CALL TO WORSHIP: That first Easter day two of the other followers were walking home to the village Emmaus, about seven miles out of Jerusalem. We were deep in conversation, going over all these things that had just happened. In the middle of their talk and questions, Jesus suddenly came up and walked along with them. But we were not able to recognize who he really was. Jesus asked, "What's this you're discussing so intently as you walk along?" We just stood there, long-faced, like we had lost our best friend. Then one of them, Cleopas, said, "Are you the only one in Jerusalem who hasn't heard what's happened during the last few days?" Then Jesus asked us, "What has happened?" *HYMN #295G Jesus Christ Is Risen Today *CALL TO and PRAYER of CONFESSION These two from Emmaus answered, "The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene! He was a man of God, a prophet, dynamic in work and word, blessed by both God and all the people. Then our high priests and leaders betrayed him, got him sentenced to death, and crucified him. And we had our hopes up that he was the One, the Messiah and Christ, the One about to finally deliver Israel. And it is now the third day since it happened. In silence, we now continue to confess *ASSURANCE of PARDON and GLORIA PATRI *AFFIRMATION of FAITH: Nicene Creed (see insert)

(B) refers to our blue hymnal Great Hymns of the Faith THE NICENE CREED We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the virgin, Mary, and was made human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. he has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Thank you for joining us for worship as we continue to celebrate the Easter season and rejoice in Jesus resurrection. The The The The The elder for the month is Kurt Reichert. deacon for the month is Mary Ellen Snyder. trustee for the month is Mark Skinner. greeters are Helen Sickler & Betty Dolson. lay leader is Dana Barrett.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the 2012 CROP Hunger Walk. Between walkers and workers, we had over 50 people from our congregation participate! What an overwhelming response of generosity and willingness to help. God is doing amazing things in Daretown! THANKS AGAIN! Reminder: The Feinstein Challenge may increase the total we raised due to their generosity and support in the fight against hunger. Check out our website for the weekly Bulletin and Insert. The flowers this morning are presented in loving memory of Kenny Stroud by his family. The Garden for God will soon be up and running again for 2012! Once the ground is ready we will be planting carrots, lettuces and lots of other healthy things! As always there will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex for watering and weeding. However, if you feel that signing up for a week at a time is unrealistic for you, you can still help! Maybe you have some extra time one afternoon or 10 minutes before a meeting or church function. Just head across the street and pull some weeds or turn on the sprinkler for a bit. Garden tools, the hose, and the sprinkler are kept there for your use anytime and your efforts will be much appreciated by many local hungry people! In addition to the Garden for God, a new group is being formed to collect and distribute food that would otherwise be discarded. Many places such as farms, farm markets, or stores may discard food that they cannot sell. If you are interested and willing to help out, please use the sign up sheet in the narthex. Any questions, see Melanie Richman.

Vacation Bible School will be here before we know it and this years VBS program is Sky. At Sky VBS, kids discover that by trusting God, everything is possible. VBS is being held July 23-27 from 6:30 pm 8:50 pm. If you are interested in being a station or crew leader please sign up in the narthex. More information to follow in the near future. If you have any questions please see Melanie Richman. On May 11th and 12th, many of the youth in our church (and their leaders) will be participating in the 30-Hour Famine, a World-Vision project to fight hunger throughout the world. They will be fasting from Friday after lunch until a Saturday evening dinner. There is much activity during this timethey will participate in a local service project and many activities that will teach them what it means to be truly hungry and needy. There is a soup pot in the narthex for donations or the congregation can see any of the youth, Colleen, or Dana. Please begin to pray for those participating in the fast, as well as for those the project will feed. Local food banks such as Disciples Pantry in Woodstown and Peters Pantry in Elmer continue to be in need of items. We are collecting donations such as peanut butter, jelly, tuna, cereals, pasta, sauce, soups, mac-ncheese, rice and any canned good. Please leave your contribution in the box marked in the narthex and we will make sure it gets there. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

We are getting ready for another newsletter. If you could have your articles to Jill no later than May 20th it would be appreciated. We are hoping to mail it out the last week of May or first week of June. You can email her, leave them in the container on the office door, or drop them in her basket outside the nursery. On Sunday, May 27th worship service will be held in the Old Church. Join us for a prayer time every Sunday morning in the youth lounge before church at 9:20am. The Prayer Wheel is currently being updated. As a reminder, the prayer wheel consists of two parts: the inner wheel and the outer spokes. The inner wheel pray-ERs will make the calls to the outer spoke pray-ERs. If you are interested in being a part of the prayer wheel, please see Jennett Stanley. The Mission of the Month for May is Presbyterian Disaster Relief. Please keep this ministry in your prayers. The Presbyterian Disaster Relief Fund is set up not only to help in emergency situations but it also works to support recovery efforts, which includes rebuilding in areas such as the Gulf Coast and Haiti. With our support, whether it be through donations, volunteerism, prayer or partnership, it has energized the work of helping the most vulnerable areas around the world. This mission is supported through our Presbytery giving.

There are 12 assisted listening devices available for people to better hear the worship service. They are located in a basket in the narthex. CD copies of our worship service are also available every Sunday in the narthex. Dont forget if you can volunteer one Sunday per month in the nursery please sign up on the sheet outside of the nursery door. You can also sign up for Childrens Church on the sign up sheet in the narthex. Please see Colleen Moore or Dana Barrett if you have any questions. Sunday School classes are available for all ages, children and adults. Classes begin after worship, approximately 11:15 and run until 12:15 pm. We would love to have you join us!
