AsjustshowntheFourteenthAmendmentusestheterm,theUnitedStates,ina singularsense.Whereas,Section1oftheCriminalCodeusestheterm,theUnited States,inapluralsense.Therefore,Section1oftheCriminalCodedoesnotapplyto acitizenoftheUnitedStates,undertheFourteenthAmendment,sincethe FourteenthAmendment,expressestheterm,theUnitedStates,inasingularsense.
