Information concerning matriculation number and place of residence at the time of receipt of admissions documents
Matriculation number Please report an already existing Swiss matriculation number. The eight-digit number (xx-xxx-xxx) starts with the year (first two digits) in which your studies commenced (not to be confused with the AHV number). Upon enrolling at a Swiss university or college, all students receive a matriculation number. This personal number is used for all further studies in Switzerland. The matriculation number is situated on the reverse side of your Matura- or student admissions documents. Students who do not report an existing matriculation number will be charged for the costs resulting from reissuing a second identity card with the correct number. Important: If you previously enrolled at a Swiss university and did not commence or discontinued your studies, you must still report your old matriculation number. Place of residence at time of receipt of admissions documents The place of residence is defined as the legal place of residence at the time of acquiring admissions documents to enter higher education (e.g., high school diploma, baccalaureate, etc.). Please inform us of your place of residence at the time on the admissions form (page 1 ).

Cost of Living
Please note that the cost of living in Zurich is high. Students should expect living expenses (accommodation, food, insurance costs and transport) to amount to approximately CHF 1500.00 per month. Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) does not award any scholarships. In some few exceptional cases of hardship, tuition fees may be waived upon the submission of a corresponding application. In cooperation with various foundations, contributions to living expenses and small amounts of emergency funding may be granted. Applications to these foundations, as well as applications for tuitions fee waivers, may be submitted from the second semester at the earliest.
