1.0 Introduction
1.1 Purpose of the document
The document provides a step by step guide to Recycle Cognos Services. The intended audience for this document is Cognizant BI Support Team.
1.2
Summary
Recycling (i.e. stopping then starting) the Cognos services will resolve most issues. Order is important; especially when starting the services. The reason is the Content Manager runs on CG4 as primary and CG3 as secondary. Content Manager must be running before any of the other services will function properly. If this process is being performed during normal system availability hours, then Cognizant Team is required to send out user notification. The system is available 24 hours, 7 days a week except for the weekly scheduled maintenance window on from 1:00AM CST to 8:30AM CST Sunday morning. This is a shared window with 1-5AM CST reserved for 7-Eleven Corporate Server Support (CSS). Cognizant will have to work in co-ordination with CSS Team. Recycling of Cognos services is a scheduled weekly event that occurs every Sunday morning between 5:30AM CST-8:30AM CST.
