Formulated at Notre Dame University by Rev. Thomas Chambers, the International Student Leadership Institute (ISLI) program is designed to identify and respond to the current needs of young people. It is open to all high school age young people who wish to learn about leadership and improve their already existing decision-making and problem solving skills through the teachings of the Catholic faith. To deal effectively with people is one of the most important skills a young person will acquire. It is believed that leadership can be learned and will enhance a student's education and life by improving his or her interpersonal relationships. The facilitation of the ISLI Program is supported by the Bishop of Scranton, the Most Reverend Joseph C. Im so glad that I came...it made me realize a whole other side to me. Overall, a great experience...more kids should do this! What I truly ended up loving about this experience was that it challenged me to become a better leader. ISLI is a good place to come, be with new people and have a new experience. Showed me that I can do whatever I want - thank you for helping me realize this! My favorite part was that we first became a group and now we have become a family! I learned about others and while it seems like people are so different, but we have so many similarities. I absolutely love spending time with people who share my faith and love of God.
