CHALLENGE / OPPORTUNITY A petroleum refinery located in Brazil used more than 180 tons of inorganic metallic coagulant per year in order to reduce COD, H2S and G&O in its wastewater treatment plant with satisfactory results and costs, but with some interference with the biological treatment (secondary wastewater) because of pH fluctuations and metal content deriving from inorganic coagulant addition.

Located in southern Brazil, Tanac is the worlds largest producer of mimosa vegetable extracts.
