CELAEP Institutional Information

In 2006, CELAEP was incorporated under laws and norms of the Republic of Ecuador. When the Center was created, our main interest was to promote scientific research within the scope of political science. Over time, our activities and projects have been enlarged. We are not only dedicated to research but also have ventured, with much success, into counseling and technical assistance to local governments and public sector institutions. Furthermore, we have worked jointly with NGOs, universities and multilateral organizations in various activities and projects. One of our constant focuses has been to contribute to open dialogue and debate in spheres of national and regional interest; spheres that not only have to do with our fields of expertise but also involve political, social and economic affairs. We have organized international seminars, round tables and forums to further this goal. Conscious that it is necessary and essential to document the debate of CELAEP's areas of interest, we have promoted the publication of books, reports, brochures, newsletters and magazines. At the present time, were are proud to publish the Latin American Comparative Politics Review at a regional scale every six months and the Political Juncture Newsletter at a national scale monthly.
