WHY OUR HEARTS DONT RESPOND TO THE WORDS OF ALLAH ANY MORE

Why we listen to Khutba and still remain unmoved, untouched, unchanged.

When we listen to any reminder of Allahs Words its our hearts that recognize the Words and respond by moving us to action. IT has been proven by scientists that the heart is more than just a blood pumping organ. Infact the Heart performs functions similar to the brain! The heart issues commands to the body which override those initiated by the brain!

So if our hearts actually hear the words they will command our body to respond. Thats when we feel all charged up with IMAAN we feel ready to do anything for the sake of Allah. However we rarely get those goose bumps today no matter how hard we try to listen to reminders of Allahs punishments and his paradise that awaits the patient, constant, enduring believing slaves. WHY? We keep on wondering. The condition just keeps on worsening with the passage of time. The ANSWER is simple: Lack of SINCERITY.

When we are committing significant SINS in our lives its not possible for our hearts to listen to the words of Allah accept them, in fact we cant have both at the same time a heart that commands to SIN and a heart that commands to the way of Allah. Its when we are free of major sins that the heart can readily respond to the words of Allah. Thats why in the Quran Allah tells us that if we stay away from the major sins, He will purify us and forgive us our small sins.

But then we say we are not committing Major sins in our daily lives. Is that true? What are major Sins? How about looking at the Aura of Men and Women? Through watching regular TV Shows and movies. Not even Porn, just your average common TV Show. How about listening to hypocritical Music that totally contradicts the teachings of Islam Music is all about Dunya. Its so fake. You are my one and only, Ill die with out you, live is not worth living without you: you are my ANGEL? ?? Angel? Do we even know what angels are? And so many other blasphemous things. How about

According to the scholars when we are persistent with small sins, they stop being small and become big sins.

STRATEGIES
Start slow
How many times have we reclaimed our iman but slipped again after a few days, or weeks? The problem is maintaining the iman. Its almost like trying to stay balanced on a still bicycle. You will fall to the side in two seconds. However if you start moving forward on your bicycle you maintain your balance until you reach your destination of choice. The trick is to keep on adding something new and good to your ibadah every day, week, month, year. This constant adding of new good deeds will keep your iman

balance. So make a schedule of things you think you wish you could be doing but couldnt do in the past because of your weak iman. For example: Week1: Reciting Suratul Mulk at night Week2: Delete your movie collections that have a lot of Nudity in them Week3: Make 2 rakat Nafil in the morning before starting the day. Week4:

PITFALLS
When we start to do ibadat (worship) of Allah with great zeal and compassion we need to make sure we have a strong love of Allah (SWT) and also know his greatness and other attributes. Otherwise its very easy for shaytan to hijack our worship and make the motivation of our worship to impress others without knowing it. For example you might have been going to the Masjid for Fajir prayer for quite some time, but then one day you wake up late in the morning with the sun already out then you realize you have missed the fajir prayer at the masjid, and then you feel humiliated! Your reputation in the masjid! You cant turn back time! This is an example showing you that your intentions had not been pure all along.

Allah tells us in the Quran that verily Salat is heavy and difficult except for the true believers. So it means if you have motivation to be doing ibdah constantly without having the real love and feelings for Allah in your heart then your source of motivation has to be something else usually its riyah (showing off for the people)

TO clearly illustrate this concept. There is a story of a man who was at the masjid praying some nafils with long sujuds and apparently complete khushua. so some brothers sitting in the masjid behind him noticed and were impressed and started talking about wonderful his solat was and how they wish they could pray like him. Unknown to them this man was listening attentively to them and hanging on to every word they were saying with pleasure. Before he could finish the solat, he suddenly turns his face to the side and says : Brothers I am also Fasting. Subhanaillah! The man dosent even realize he is praying (well he isnt praying actually- rather he is giving a show)

The story of the man at masjid who turns around during prayer and says : Brothers I am also fasting.

When a woman starts wearing a hijab with out knowing the reward she is getting from obeying Allah then it becomes an act to ensure the muslims around her dont criticize her for not doing so.

So many youth pray to avoid being critizied by their elders, thats why as soon as they get a chance to not put up with the show (like when they go to university) they put off the show. The most important thing you can do to a person is to make him or her see the attribute of Allah and love Allah. Allah spent 13 years building the iman of the sahabas in mecca before giving them the commands of dos and donts.

Khalifas of the World Every Muslim is a leader, because Allah Himself appointed us to be so. There for we must make sure we all have the two most important qualities of leadership TRUTHFULNESS AND CREDIBILITY. In a 25 year long research survey by some nonMuslims spanning across various cultures, countries and continents they found that TRUTHFULNESS AND CREDIBILITY are the two most important qualities of leadership. Rasulullah and Trust the story of Ali at hijra

The story of imam shafiI and how he couldnt wake up for tahajjud for 1 week because he commited giba of the heart. He came early in masjid to make azan for fajir and met someone praying in the masjid and crying. So he thought to himself- why the man should cry in the masjid that he was showing off.
