FADE IN: INT. RESTAURANT-NIGHT Teresa Diaz and Kyle Sanders arrive to a table at a classy steakhouse restaurant. Kyle pulls out Teresas chair. She sits down and he pushes her seat in while he takes his own seat. A waiter arrives at their table. WAITER May I get you folks something to drink? TERESA Ill have water and also a bottle Merlot wine. KYLE Same here. The waiter writes down their drink order on a notepad. WAITER Water for two and a bottle of Merlot wine. Am I correct? KYLE Yes. WAITER Okay then. Dont forget there are menus in front of you for each of you to look at as well. TERESA Sure. WAITER Ill be back with your beverages. KYLE No problem Teresa and Kyle browse through the menus. Teresa finds something interesting through one of the menus and mumbles to herself. TERESA This walnut crusted salmon looks good.

Kyle glances at Teresas wedding ring on her left ring finger and then glances at the menu. Teresa takes off her ring and places it in her purse. The waiter arrives with a tray containing a water pitcher and a a bottle of Merlot wine. The waiter sets the Merlot wine bottle on the table and pours water in each glass. WAITER Have you each made your decisions or do you need enough time? KYLE Were ready. (To Teresa) Ladies first. TERESA Ill have this walnut crusted salmon entree. WAITER (To Steve) And what about you sir? KYLE Ill have Shrimp Scampi. The waiter writes down their order. WAITER All right then. Enjoy your drinks and Ill be back with your entrees. TERESA Thanks. WAITER Youre welcome. The waiter leaves. Kyle opens the Merlot wine bottle and starts pouring wine in Teresas glass and his. They share a toast and drink. KYLE I have something for you. He grabs a small shopping bag from underneath the table, takes out a jewelry box and opens it. It is a classy-looking charm bracelet. TERESA (smiling) Wow, that looks very stunning!

KYLE You like it dont you? TERESA Of course. Kyle places the bracelet on Teresas left wrist. The waiter arrives with their meals and places each in front of them. WAITER Enjoy your meal and let me know if you need more refills of water and Merlot wine. TERESA Sure, no problem. KYLE Thanks, anyway. WAITER Youre welcome. The waiter leaves. They start eating. KYLE (smiling) So, Teresa, you seem interesting and stunningly beautiful, what makes you that way? TERESA (smiling) I just enjoy being around people. Hanging out with them and having a great time. KYLE What do you like to do? TERESA Go to movies, concerts, sporting events, theme parks, the beach, play tennis, et cetera. KYLE So youre a people person. TERESA You could say that.

KYLE Hey, I also enjoy movies, music, sporting events, theme parks, and the beach. In fact, would you like to come over to my place after dinner and watch the Florida Panthers versus the New Jersey Devils in Game 2 of this years Stanley Cup Playoffs? TERESA Sure. Teresa and Kyle finish eating their meal. The waiter comes over. WAITER How was it? TERESA Great. The waiter takes their plates and silverware off the table. KYLE Fantastic! WAITER Care for any dessert? TERESA No thanks. KYLE Were good. WAITER Im glad you enjoyed your meal. The waiter takes out the receipt and places it on the table. WAITER Anyway, heres your receipt. KYLE Thanks. WAITER No problem, then. The waiter leaves.

KYLE Ill handle it. TERESA Thanks. Teresa and Kyle get up and leave their table. They go to the cash register. EMPLOYEE AT THE CASH REGISTER Is that all for you? KYLE Yes. EMPLOYEE AT THE CASH REGISTER Thank you and have a good evening. TERESA You too. They leave the restaurant. INT. KYLES APARTMENT-NIGHT Kyle escorts Teresa to his apartment. She sees that it is a neat, clean, well-organized bachelor pad. TERESA Good-looking place. KYLE Thanks. TERESA Youre welcome. KYLE Have a seat. Teresa sits on the couch. Kyle turns on the TV to the Florida Panthers versus New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup Playoff match on NBC Sports Network. KYLE Here we go. Kyle sits with Teresa on the couch and puts her arm around her shoulder as they are watching the match unfold. Teresa looks at both the members of the Panthers and the Devils up and down with awe, smiling.

CLOSE SHOT- The TV screen shows Zach Parise scoring a 1-0 goal for the Devils in the beginning of the first period and his teammates congratulating him. Kyle leans in and kisses her on the lips. TERESA What are you doing? Were supposed to be watching the game! Teresa pushes him off but he puts his arms tightly around her, pushing her to the couch, and kissing her all over. KYLE You were checking those Panthers and Devils guys on TV! Dont you want me? TERESA Of course I do. Now get off! We should be watching the game, not making out! KYLE I cant focus on the game right now. I love you and want you all to myself more than anyone and anything. Kyle quickly unzips Teresas dress. KYLE And I dont want to lose you to anyone, either. Kyle continues to kiss Teresa all over but she tries to push him off again. TERESA I want to watch the game! Kyle punches Teresa in the face as she screams loud and pushes her hard to the floor. She blacks out. EXT. TERESAS HOUSE-NIGHT Detective Rachel Leung-Higgins and her son, Joseph, an FBI agent ring the doorbell of Teresas house. Teresas husband Ernesto opens the door.

ERNESTO Hi, may I ask whats going on? DETECTIVE LEUNG-HIGGINS Is this the house of Ernesto Diaz? ERNESTO Yes, it is. DETECTIVE LEUNG-HIGGINS Hi, I am Miami-Dade Police Detective Rachel Leung-Higgins and this is my son, FBI agent Joseph Leung-Higgins. AGENT LEUNG-HIGGINS Pleasure to meet you, Sir. Ernesto shakes Josephs hand. ERNESTO Pleasure to meet you too. DETECTIVE LEUNG-HIGGINS Your wife, Teresa Diaz was sexually assaulted by another man named Kyle Sanders who lured her into his apartment and suffered a mild to moderate concussion. ERNESTO (shocked) Oh my goodness! How could this be? AGENT LEUNG-HIGGINS She just went out on a date with him. He took her into his apartment to watch the Florida Panthers go up against the New Jersey Devils in Game 2 of this years NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs on TV, which is currently taking place in town, and started to attacking her. In other words, Teresa is having an affair and her boyfriend, or manstress, whatever, is in custody right now while she is in the hospital. You might as well go and see her. ERNESTO I will. AGENT LEUNG-HIGGINS Anytime. INT. HOSPITAL-NIGHT Ernesto arrives to Teresas hospital room with Lucia and Hector. She is lying in a coma. Dr. Matthias Peterson comes in with a clipboard. DR. PETERSON We ran a lot of tests for Teresa and there are no signs of STDs, AIDS, nor pregnancy. However, she suffered some bruises, a black eye, and a fractured arm but she is doing fine. ERNESTO Thank goodness! DR. PETERSON It will probably take a while or so for her to wake up from her coma. Shell hang in there. Dont worry. Ernesto starts tearing up. DR. PETERSON Meanwhile, you might want to go home and get some rest. You sound stressed here. ERNESTO (sniffling) Okay. Thanks. DR. PETERSON No problem. Ernesto and the children leave Teresas hospital room. INT. TERESAS HOUSE-NIGHT Ernesto is back at home with the children in their bedroom. Their heads are bowed and their hands are closed together. ERNESTO Lord, if it is possible, me and my children pray that you give my wife, Teresa, the strength to wake up and recover from her coma, due (MORE) (CONTINUED)

They all make the sign of the cross and close their hands together. Ernesto puts the childrens blankets over them and kisses each of them goodnight. He goes out of their room and turns off the light. INT. ERNESTOS BEDROOM-NIGHT Ernesto climbs into bed, turns off the light and goes to sleep. EXT. HOSPITAL-DAY EXTREMELY LONG SHOT-People and vehicles are going back and forth in the hospital campus. INT. HOSPITAL-DAY Ernesto arrives to the reception desk with a bunch of flowers in his hand. ERNESTO Hi, I would like to see my wife, Teresa Diaz if possible. Her room number is 374. RECEPTIONIST Sure, no problem. The receptionist dials the phone. RECEPTIONIST Hello, we have a patient whose husband would like to see her. Would that be possible? Thanks. The receptionist puts down the phone. (CONTINUED)

RECEPTIONIST You can go see her. ERNESTO Thanks, I appreciate it. RECEPTIONIST Youre welcome INT. TERESAS HOSPITAL ROOM-DAY Ernesto arrives to Teresas hospital room. She is sitting on her bed watching TV. ERNESTO Thank goodness, honey, youre okay. TERESA I know but I still feel kind of sore. How are Lucia and Hector? ERNESTO Theyre doing great. Theyre at my mami and papis house right now. TERESA Thats good. ERNESTO Anyway, I brought you some flowers. He gets the flowers from the chair and gives them to Teresa. TERESA Oh, thank you. ERNESTO You know I love you. TERESA I love you too. Teresa and Ernesto embrace each other. TERESA I would like to tell you that I apologize for going out with Kyle and giving into him as well as betraying your trust again with these kinds of excesses.

ERNESTO I understand. He tempted you into doing so just like those other men youve been with in the past while still with me. Im not holding any grudges against you here but I want you to know that I truly forgive you. TERESA I appreciate it. ERNESTO Anyway, Kyle is locked up in custody right now and according to the police, there will be a court hearing to decide whether hes innocent or guilty. All I know is that I want him locked up in jail so that way he doesnt commit anymore of these crimes again. TERESA Exactly. INT. COURTROOM-DAY Teresa and Ernesto are sitting in the front of the courtroom, surrounded by a large group of people. JUDGE CONNOR Mr. Diaz. Ernesto takes a seat at the witness stand. Kyles represantative lawyer, Mario DeSantis looks at him in the eye. MARIO What do you know about my client, Mr. Kyle Sanders? Has your wife, Teresa ever told you any details about her affair with him? ERNESTO I dont know much about Mr. Kyle Sanders and Teresa hasnt told me much details about him, except that she gave into him. Ernesto starts to cry.

ERNESTO In addition, I learned that he raped her, which really destroyed our family and our children and I am deeply hurt by this. Kyle looks at Ernesto with jealousy and suspicion. MARIO I acknowlege how you feel, sir. You look at this man as if he wrecked your home and your family. You may leave the witness stand. ERNESTO Thank you. Ernesto leaves the witness stand. JUDGE CONNOR Mrs. Diaz Teresa takes a seat in the witness stand. MARIO How long have you known Mr. Kyle Sanders and has anyone told you about him? TERESA Kyle and I have known each other for four months now and no one has ever told me about him at all. All I know is that after we had dinner two nights ago, he took me to his apartment to watch a hockey game on TV between the Florida Panthers and New Jersey Devils in Game 2 of this years NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs and he started getting too forward and fast because I was checking out both the members of the Panthers and the Devils and punched me in the face and threw me to the ground. I blacked out. He did this because he was jealous. Kyle gets up from his seat and glares at Judge Connor. KYLE Your honor, this woman is nothing but a sketchy, lying, cheating whore! (CONTINUED)

The crowd looks at each other with mixed emotions. Kyle turns to face them. KYLE She was playing with my emotions by checking out those guys from the Panthers and Devils and also not telling me she has a husband and two children! She led me on! Judge Connor pounds his mallet simultaneously. JUDGE CONNOR Silence! May we please continue? Kyle sits down. JUDGE CONNOR Thank you. MARIO Anyway, Mrs. Diaz, did you tell Mr. Sanders that you had a husband and two children? TERESA No, I didnt. MARIO Thank you. You may now leave the witness stand. TERESA Youre welcome. Teresa leaves the witness stand and goes back to her table. JUDGE CONNOR In the case of Mrs. Diaz versus her alleged lover, we the jury find the defendant guilty of non-consensual rape and will face up to five years in prison. Judge Connor pounds his mallet. JUDGE CONNOR Case is dismissed. Teresa and Ernesto are relieved.

Two police officers handcuff Kyle and escort him out of the courtroom as everyone is walking out. Teresas parents are waiting in the background with Lucia and Hector. She and Ernesto go over and embrace each of them. TERESAS FATHER Im glad that everythings over and that you and even Ernesto and the children are fine. TERESA Gracias, papi. Also, were the children good? TERESAS FATHER Of course. Your mami and I took them to the park for a while, knowing they cant understand whats going on in here. Well, anyway, would you and Ernesto like to join us for lunch? TERESA Sure, why not? (To Ernesto) Ernesto, would you like to come? ERNESTO Definitely. TERESAS FATHER Good. Now lets get out of here. Teresa, Ernesto, her parents, and their children leave the courtroom. FADE OUT THE END
