REPORTING AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS USING SAP NETWEAVER BI

SAP performance and availability data of monitored landscape components, both ABAP and Java based, can be stored for up to 24 hours and displayed in a central monitoring system. However, IT departments and hosting service providers require history data for both medium and long-term reporting on technical key performance indicators. SAP has a solution for this requirement: SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI). Performance data stored in the Central Performance History of the central monitoring system, and system workload statistics from monitored satellite systems can be extracted to BI. SAP Business Intelligence lets you analyze and report not only on performance and availability data but also on workload statistics, and on EarlyWatch data supplied by Solution Manager. Even data from other sources can be included in BI reporting. SAP will deliver a Reporting Suite called in SAPGUI. On choosing selection options in the Reporting Suite, their respective output is dynamically displayed as embedded HTML in SAP GUI. The content of the respective reports is based on Web Templates. The following exercises are meant to let you gain hands-on experience with the Reporting Suite that will be available by end of 2007, the configuration and management of the BI integration, and the BI tools for creating reports.
