COURSE OUTLINE IN 5THEO1 I. COURSE TITLE: DOING CATHOLIC THEOLOGY FOR TODAYS FILIPINO II. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Theology 1 introduces the freshmen students of Holy Angel University to the nature and purpose for doing Catholic theology at the college level. The courses primary goal is to educate the students in the foundations of Catholic theology. The first part focuses on the foundation of doing Catholic theology wherein Christian faith is studied as encompassing our believing, doing and praying, with its paradoxical qualities. The second part is a selection of stories from the Old Testament in order to bring the students to an encounter with the richness of human experiences found in the Scriptures from which they may draw inspiration in their day to day living. This revelation of God is perfected and completed in the unique person and mission of Jesus Christ. Jesus earthly life, beginning with the Incarnation until his eventual suffering, death and resurrection, is developed in the succeeding part along with our personal faith-response.
