The band-stop filter is used when individual frequencies are to be attenuated. It is particularly suitable for laboratory test purposes, because of its ease of tuning. It can be used: to attenuate interfering signals, to increase the isolation between a transmitter and a receiver, to suppress intermodulation products. Design and construction: The band-stop filter consists of capacitively shortened /4 coaxial resonators. The resonators of the multicavity band-stop filter are interconnected by cables of /4 length. The stop band frequency and the stop band attenuation are tunable. Filter characteristics: Narrow stop band with high stop band attenuation, low insertion loss outside the stop band range. Tuning: The band-stop filter is tuned to the desired stop band frequency and stop band attenuation at the factory. When ordering please specify stop band frequency and stop band attenuation. The band-stop filter can also be tuned on site following the instructions provided. The resonators of the 2-cavity or 3-cavity band-stop filters can be tuned independently. In this way, 2 or 3 different interfering signals can be suppressed or one single interfering signal can be especially attenuated.

The band-stop filter is used when individual frequencies are to be attenuated. Due to its easy tuning it is particularly suitable for laboratory test purposes. It can be used: to attenuate interfering signals, to increase the isolation between a transmitter and a receiver, to suppress intermodulation products. Design and construction: The band-pass filter consists of two /4 coaxial resonators mounted on a stable mounting plate. Filter characteristics: Narrow stop band with high stop band attenuation, low insertion loss outside of the stop band. Tuning: The band-stop filter is factory-tuned to the indicated stop band frequency. Tuning can also be effected on site following the instructions provided. Since both resonators can be tuned independently, two separate interfering signals can be attentuated or one interfering signal can be suppressed with very high attentuation. Please indicate stop band frequency f0 and stop band bandwidth when ordering.

The hybrid transmitter combiner allows two to four transmitters to be combined to a common antenna output. Special features: very narrow spacing of the transmitting frequencies, down to adjacent channel spacing (3 dB/6 dB loss due to design principle), very high isolation between Tx inputs due to built-in circulators, easy frequency changing as no tuning is required, low space requirement due to compact design. Design and construction: The hybrid transmitter combiner uses hybrid ring junctions to combine the transmitters. Each transmitting path incorporates a wide-band dual circulator with integrated absorbers. The absorbers are dimensioned for a total reflection possibly occurring at the output. The dissipation power is fed to the surroundings via the ribbed housing. Customized versions: with a single circulator instead of dual circulator, if lower isolation between the Tx inputs is sufficient, with a band-pass filter at the output, with power monitoring feature, for higher power.

The 3-dB coupler can be used: as a decoupled power splitter with a ratio of 1:1, for the decoupled combining of two transmitters with frequency spacing as narrow as desired (at 3 dB loss), for the decoupled combining of two receivers with frequency spacing as narrow as desired, for the decoupled combining of two transmitter/receiver units, whose integrated duplexers are within the same frequency range, as a frequency-independent 90 phase shifter, as a component to form combiners. Function: The 3-dB coupler has four ports, two of which are decoupled from each other. For example effective power entering into port 1 is distributed into ports 2 and 3. Port 4 is decoupled and without power if ports 2 and 3 are ideally matched. In practice an absorber of suitable power at port 4 is to be planned in accordance with the mismatch of ports 2 and 3. Decoupled combining can be achieved via the diagonally opposite ports 2 and 3 or 1 and 4. Customized versions: On request couplers with a coupling attenuation of between 3 dB and 10 dB are available.

The 3-dB coupler with cable absorber is suitable for combining 2 transmitters or 2 transmitter groups (transmitter combiners) to one common antenna while achieving very low intermodulation. The frequency spacing between the transmitting frequencies can be as narrow as required. For technical reasons half the signal power (3 dB) is dissipated by the cable absorber. Design and construction: The 3-dB coupler with cable absorber consists of a 3-dB coupler and a 10-W load with an inserted 20-dB attenuation cable. Function: The insertion of a 20-dB attenuation cable causes the transmission signals to be highly attenuated before they reach the load. Thus only intermodulation products of a very low level can be generated at the load, which are further reduced by 20 dB in the attenuation cable on the return path to the antenna output.

The decoupled power splitter can be used: for power distribution, e.g. from one common antenna to several receivers with frequency spacing as narrow as desired, for power distribution, for example: from one transmitter to several outputs, for decoupled combining of several transmitters with frequency spacing as narrow as desired (at 4.7 dB or 6 dB loss), for decoupled combining of several transmitting/ receiving units, whose integrated duplexers are within the same frequency range. Function: The decoupled 3:1 power splitter has 3 inputs, one output, and 3 absorber ports. The decoupled 4:1 power splitter has 4 inputs, one output, and 4 absorber ports. The inputs are only decoupled if the absorber ports are terminated with 50 loads of suitable power. Dimensioning the absorber: The absorbers of the 3:1 power splitter must be dimensioned so that at least 2/3 of the power fed into the inputs can be absorbed. Example: If a power of 50 W is fed into every input, then the absorbers must be able to absorb 33 W each. The absorbers of the 4:1 power splitter must be dimensioned so that at least 3/4 of the power fed into the inputs can be absorbed. Example: If a power of 50 W is fed into every input, then the absorbers must be able to absorb 37 W each.

The circulator can be used: to increase the coupling attenuation between transmitters, to reduce intermodulation products, to prevent adverse effects of unmatched load impedance on amplifier performance. Function: The circulator is a non-reciprocal component with low insertion loss in the forward direction (12) and high attenuation in the reverse direction (21). The impedance at the input (1) of the circulator is constant and independent of the impedance of the components following. The reflected power at the output (2) is passed to the absorber port (3), which must be terminated with an absorber. Dimensioning of the absorbers: The absorber at port (3) must be dimensioned to be able to absorb the maximum power reflected at output (2).

The combiner system allows a transmitting antenna and two receiving antennas each to be twice used. For instance, common antennas may be used for the base station radio equipment of the mobile communication networks D1 and D2. In the transmission path a 3-dB coupler with cable absorber 729 745 serves to combine 2 transmitters or 2 transmitter combiners to one common antenna, while providing very low intermodulation. Both the receiving antennas can be used twice due to the 3-dB coupler K 63 70 67.

The use of the receiver multicoupler 780 066 is appropriate if several receivers are operated simultaneously at the same site. With this receiver multicoupler up to 8 receivers can be connected to one common antenna. This results in considerable savings for the antenna system. The low noise figure and the excellent intermodulation properties guarantee a high dynamic range and thereby improved receiving conditions. This is of particular significance in locations where transmitters are also operated next to receivers. The receiver multicoupler consists of: a low noise amplifier, a power splitter, a voltage supply. The receiver multicoupler has an active redundancy due to the two amplifier modules in parallel which are located in the low noise amplifier. This means that the receivers multicoupler still supplies all connected receivers even if one of the amplifier modules fails. The signal levels in this case decrease by approximately 6 dB. Each amplifier module is designed for operation with its own voltage supply of 230 V AC or +11 +48 V DC.

This means that the receiver multicoupler still supplies all connected receivers even if one of the amplifier modules fails. The signal levels in this case decrease by approximately 6 dB. Each amplifier module is designed for operation with its own voltage supply of 230 V AC or +11 +48 V DC.

The use of the receiver amplifier 780 164 is highly recommended if the transmission line attenuation of long antenna feeders reduces the quality of the received signal. The receiver amplifier is built into a weather protective housing and can therefore be operated close to the receiving antenna. It can be wall or mast mounted. The low noise amplifier consists of: a preselector filter, a low noise amplifier, a DC biasing network. The installed preselector filter prevents interference caused by signals outside the receiving band; for example caused by signals of transmitters on the same antenna site. With the two amplifier modules 1 and 2 in parallel, the receiver amplifier has an active redundancy. This means that the receiver multicoupler still supplies all connected receivers even if one of the amplifier modules fails. The signal levels in this case decrease by approximately 6 dB. Additional measures against static discharge and lightning in the preselector filter and the DC biasing network guarantee high reliability and operational safety for the receiver amplifier.

The use of the receiver multicoupler 780 251 is appropriate if several receivers are operated simultaneously at the same site. With this receiver multicoupler up to 4 receivers can be connected to one common antenna. This results in considerable savings for the antenna system. The low noise figure and the excellent intermodulation properties guarantee a high dynamic range and thereby improve receiving conditions. This is of particular significance in locations where transmitters are also operated next to receivers. The receiver multicoupler consists of: a preselector filter, a low noise amplifier unit, a power splitter, a supply and alarmunit. With the two parallel connected amplifier modules which are located in the low noise amplifier, the receiver multicoupler has an active redundancy. This means that the receiver multicoupler still supplies all connected receivers even if one of the amplifier mudules fail. The signal levels in this case decreases by approximately 6 dB. Each amplifier module is designed with its own voltage supply. Two alarm outputs are available (open collector), which are activated if one of the two modules (A 1) or both modules (A 2) fail. The alarms are also indicated on the front panel.
