Safety Instructions and Precautions


1. MAIN SUPPLY 5V DC, 1A
This Set Top Box should only be operated using the type of power supply indicated on the marking label. If you are unsure of the type of power supplied to your home, consult your local power company. Before starting any maintenance or installation procedures, disconnect the Set Top Box from the mains.

2. OVERLOADING
Be careful not to overload wall outlets, extension cords or adapters as this may result in re or electric shock.

3. LIQUID
Protect the Set Top Box against humidity, drips and splashing. In addition, objects lled with liquids should never be placed on top of the Set Top Box.

4. CLEANING
Before cleaning, disconnect the Set Top Box from the wall outlet. Use a light damp cloth (no solvent) to clean the Set Top Box exterior.

5. VENTILATION
The ventilation slots on top of the Set Top Box must be left uncovered to ensure that free air ow is maintained around the unit. Do not stand the Set Top Box on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not stack any electronic equipment on top of the Set Top Box.

6. ATTACHMENTS
Do not use any attachments that are not recommended by the manufacturer as these may be hazardous or cause damage to the Set Top Box.

7. CONNECTION TO THE TV

Before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the TV, disconnect the Set Top Box from the mains. Failure to do so may damage the TV.

8. DURING LIGHTENING, STORM OR WHEN NOT USED FOR EXTENDED PERIOD

During thunderstorms or when left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug the Set Top Box from the wall outlet and disconnect the cable. This will prevent damage to the unit due to lightening or power surges. Do not insert anything into the openings in the unit, where they can touch dangerous voltage points or damage parts.

10. LOCATION

Install the Set Top Box indoors to avoid exposing it to lightning, rain or sun. No naked ame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus. Do not place it near radiators or heat registers. Maintain a clearance of at least 10 cm from any appliance susceptible to electromagnetic in uences, such as a TV/DVD/VCR/Computer. Do not close o the cooling slots on the Set Top Box with any object, and do not place Set Top Box on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. If you place the Set Top Box on a rack or bookcase, ensure that there is adequate ventilation and that you have followed the manufacturers instructions regarding mounting. Do not place the Set Top Box on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table from which it may fall. A falling Set Top Box can cause serious injury to a child or adult and seriously damage the appliance. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. If parts need to be replaced, be sure that a quali ed service technician uses replacement parts speci ed by the manufacturer or those that have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in additional damage to the unit.

1 . 4 Inserting a Smart card


The Set Top Box with a Smart Card which entitles you to view / listen to all the channels you choose to subscribe to. To ensure that your Set Top Box functions properly, please leave the Smart Card inserted in it at all times. The Smard Card slot on the digital Set Top Box can be used for given Smart card only.

To prevent damage to the STB or the smart card 1. Do not insert or remove the smart card when STB is powered on. 2. Do not frequently insert or remove the smart card.

2. Setting up the Digital Set Top Box


This chapter describes how to set up your Set Top Box. Select the most appropriate procedure depending on your requirements. Before connecting the Set Top Box to any other equipment, it is necessary to disconnect all equipment from their sources.

2.1 Connecting the Set Top Box with Cable system/TV


1. Before connecting or disconnecting a cable, power o the Set Top Box, TV, and all the devices connected to them. 2. Do not plug or unplug a cable when a device is powered on. 2.1.1 Using the RF Cable Connect the coaxial cable from cable system to the RF IN jack on the Set Top Box.

2.1.2 Using the RCA Cable Connect the RCA cable from AUDIO IN L/R jacks on the TV to the AUDIO L/R jack on the Set Top Box.

2.2 Powering On

1. The power adapter of the Set Top Box should be connected to a wall outlet and the Set Top Box.

2. You can select programmes as per genres & upon selecting <OK> key programming guide is displayed.

3. Pressing <FAVOURITES> key will tune to the first favourite channel. Using FAV key will tune to next favourite channels available if any.

1. Press <MENU> key to display the menu options. 2. You can select the sub menu using < / > key and the selected sub menu options become highlighted. You can navigate through these, by using < / > keys. 3. To select an option in the submenu, highlight the option & press <OK> key. 4. Pressing <BACK> key returns to the previous menu. 5. Pressing <MENU> key again returns to the channel being watched earlier.

5.6.3 Manage Favourites Now Den Network presents a new feature Multiple Favourite wherein you can set your favourite channels for 4 users. From this service each of you in a family can be sure of keeping a record of your favourite channels and have a whale of a time watching TV. To avail of this service select Favourites from the Main Menu then select Manage Favourites. [Menu] > [Favourite] > [Manage Favourite]

Now choose the Manage Favourites option and then select the User Key and press OK.

You will now be guided to a page of alphabets. Just press the alphabets and feed your name. Press OK to save it.
